(yet another coil question): 8" FBS vs. 8x6 SEF?

Howdy,

I currently have an 8" FBS as an extra coil for my SE, and I was wondering how it compares to the 8x6 SEF (butterfly) coil. Anyone have an feedback between just those two?

Thanks!

separates better and goes a tad deeper in my IL soil.

Now for something that drives me NUTS....Why do they call it the 8x6 coil???

They have a 10 x 14 that's called just that...a 10 x 14. They have a 10 x 12 that's called just that...a 10 x 12. They have a 12 x 15 that's called just...a 12 x 15. They have a 15 x 18 thats called just that...a 15 x 18. So why the heck do they call the 6 x 8 an 8 x 6???????:ranting:

It's a 6 x 8 SEF coil

Thanks, Bryce. Yeah, I suppose I would be more accurate to ask about the FBS 800 vs. the SEF. I know the SEF itself gets great reviews (I read through your postings on it, and the responses, etc). I was just curious about whether it was worth considering, given that I already have the FBS.

I assumed the 'M x N' designation is width x length, and that in this case, it's wider than is longer, unlike the other SEFs? Thus 8 x 6 instead of 6 x 8. Not sure though.

But it sounds like a coil to put on my 'watch list' for a deal... (along with an E-Trac and other curiosities).
