:yikes:donnot go detecting with a rattlesnake:rofl:

though as a kid I remember my brother and I encountered a rattlesnake near the Lake George area ( a little south of here). Our Dad killed it. Michigan does have its own rattlesnake though call the Massasauga rattle snake also known as a pigmy rattler. The thing is poisonous. Had some people killed by them over the years since my youth - now that is a long time

Now that I am on Coumadin/Warfarin (blood thinners) I worry more about getting cut on something more than snake bite. Once found a hypdermic in a county playground - needle still intact. Lots of broken glass and sharp lids from cans and pull tabs require a good set of gloves while detecting.

Glad you reminded us of just one of the hazards of detecting.

Nice pair of boots!

chicken!!! :rolf:

I remember when I was a camp counselor a LONG time ago. One of the inner city kids came back from the woods shouting, "Look what I got!" He was dragging a very big, stunned and unhappy copperhead. Gotta love kids :)
