Looks like a fun hunt to me! :)

Thanks for the pic's as mike can tell you I like pic's. I think that you have your down load program set to reverse load. at least that is how our Kodak program works --Graw :yo:

Neat photos! That is a bit strange for me as I used to live in Stratford on Nichols Ave, went to Nichols School as a child, many years ago! I would love to detect on Charles Island, I believe it is more near Milford, memory not working as used to, also it may be a private island. I grew up along the shoreline as I am originally from CT. If my memory is correct at low tide you used to be able to walk to one of the islands, it may have been Charles Island, but then you were stuck if you didn't beat the tide back! Thanks for sharing!

Yes, Tim,

That's Charles Island in Milford that you are speaking of.

Every Spring /Summer there are two or three incidences where people ( usually teenagers) get stranded on the island because they miscalculate the tide times...also there is a dangerous current along the way back from the island and people who think they can swim back have to be rescued from near drowning.

The island is now enclosed with fencing, but people are allowed to walk the perimeter, and once of twice a year, some club sponsers a "Treasure Hunt" for a Charity Institution ; it is a family affair and mostly for children...but the talk still prevails that Captain Kidd landed there and hid some treasure on the island.

Charles Island is just to the left in one of the pics, but I didn't include it in the shot..

I'll take a pic next time I am at Silver Sands Beach in Milford and post it .

Hello Magyar. I'm new to the forum and detecting. Your post caught my attention because I live in Connecticut also. I live in Branford, not too far from Branford point. I'll be retiring soon, so I'll have a lot of time to work the beaches. Maybe I'll run into you someday. Nice pictures you posted, Thanks for sharing.
