You gentlemen are sharp...and smart...could you help me identify this object that I found this morning at the beach

The reason I am asking is because initially upon finding it, it was tarnished , and I thought it might be a silver bracelet

But after electrolysis and further cleaning, and after testing it for silver with my acid kit ( result positive) .. I am not convinced that it is a bracelet...nor that it is silver..it just doesn't look right to me

I think it is some gadget associated with fishing gear...don't know anything about fishing but it was found near a fishing pier...

And the shape of it is illiptical...not round as a bracelet

Any help on this would be appreaciated

thank you

Magz

p.s. I thinkin' "contest"...on this one..

thing?

If it is silver....

Back a ways in the time machine, there were Silver, SIlver & Gold bracelets like that....

I believe that they were called "Elephant Tails"... usually purchased at/from "craftsmen jewelers"... or other "upscale" sources...

Usually worn on the wrists or ankles.... and custom made...

Smaller diameter? It could be a ring..

Seems I remember "dating" a young lady who wore one....

Beautiful, ahemmmm, ankles too!!
