I'm getting sucked into buying a new machine by youtube. I've been looking at videos of people relic hunting with the Mindlab Equinox 800 and the Deus and its making me doubt the T2+, but after watching these videos again and again I'm starting to feel confident in the T2+ again. All the targets the Nox was finding my T2+ would have easily found as well. The T2+ is good in trashy areas and has good depth as well and I'm very familiar with it . I think I might hold of on the purchase of a new machine and not fall victim to all the hype just yet. I would appreciate the groups thoughts and advice on this.

Never had the T2 but I had the F75. The F75 is a very good machine. I bought a Deus 1 3 1/2 years ago. I absolutely love it. I have ordered the Deus 2 mainly for salt water but I'll be keeping the 1. The ability to change frequencies and settings on different sites...it's like having several different detectors. I sold my F75 and a few others. If my Deus 2 ever arrives I'll sell off my salt water machine and I'll be down to 2 machines. (Deus 1 and 2). But that's just me, if you love the T2 I wouldn't tell you to sell it to buy something else. Best of luck

I have a T2 and a Deus. I cannot honestly say that the Deus found something the T2 would not have. I don't think it's numbers are any more accurate but I usually just keep the Deus remote in my pocket unless I want to turn it on to change something. It is lighter and more adjustable in certain ways but I sure wish it had a toggle for all metal like the T2. What I would say is that If you want to try a Deus, now is a good time because many are discarding them for the Deus 2 and you can get them for a pretty good price. I see the price is dropping a little on the Equinox but just wait until the Equinox 2 comes out, then there will be great deals on it. But then again, you will probably be wanting the 2 by then.

You're not going to find much if anything more with it. You will find things you missed as you would with if you went from the x detector to a T2. You're familiar and I assume like using your T2 so I would hold off. But,,, you never know unless you try. If you can get a great deal on a used one and can later sell it for the same $ if you don't like it then why not.

I have heard that FT is supposed to come out with a couple new machines maybe around Summer but who knows. If they don't they could be the next to fall.

The T2 is HIGHLY favored in the UK hunting in iron and is one of the most popular detectors there.

The eqx 800 was my worst by . Spent cabelas bucks so no big deal . My best buy was my goldbug. Extremely satisfying. Not deep but most stuff we find is not. Easy on eyes and ears.

This is a older post and some minds may have been changed either way since it was started, but from my 50+ years of detecting perspective multi frequency detectors are the way to go.

They do perform better in harsher ground, one has the ability to select various frequencies for the hunting task at hand, most have good selectable programs for various types of treasure and hunting that takes the guess work out of how to set the detector up and or, such modes can be fine tuned to ones own satisfaction, the Nox's, Legend and Manticore are all very deep units from what I know and hear and I am digging less trash and finding old coins previously missed by self and others. I highly suspect any new technology going forward will come from the use of multi frequency detectors. HH jim tn

I think Youtube can be a good resource to see the new stuff coming out, you can see the controls demonstrated on the new detectors, I think that is valuable. I usually watch a ton of video's before I pull the trigger on purchasing a new machine. I am also an avid user of older detectors. We are actually really lucky to have what we do in this hobby now, there has never been a time when we had so many tools available to us to find what's buried in the ground. I am a staunch believer in the power of FBS detectors myself plus I am a Whites detector fanatic but I am still open to using the newer detectors as well. It comes down to what gives you the most enjoyment in the hobby, new or old or both. I haven't looked lately but I don't think there are any laws saying you can only own one metal detector, even though my wife wishes there were such a law : )

So how are you liking the Deus 2 ???

Odanscoils, I got the 9" coil and I love it. It's a great wet and dry sand machine . I can run it in beach mode with 99. sensitivity in salt water and it's very stable and hits very deep targets. It has a few problems but only in the water. I can hit a good target in the water and if I don't get it on the first scoop the targets sometimes disappears. I know it's usually still in the hole and can usually recover the target on the 2nd or 3rd scoop but I don't like not hearing it. Doesn't do this on land, just in the water. Also, the pinpoint mode doesn't work well. It doesn't go very deep and makes a distorted screaming sound. (not very pleasant to hear). Again, not a problem on land, I don't need it but when you're getting knocked around by waves it's nice to have. Only other thing I don't care for is all the single frequency modes are normalized . I never used normalized on the Deus 1 and I wish they hadn't done this on the D2. That's it. excellent beach/water machine. I have to say I did buy an Equinox 900 after I got the D2 and it 's about as good. All the problems and irritating things have been fixed . It doesn't leak and Minelab fixed the pinpoint issue for water hunters. Only reason it's not my primary water machine is I can't run the sensitivity higher than 20 no matter where I hunt. It just goes nuts and becomes very unstable. Still a great machine and I like it better on some old land sites I hit when it gets cold. I hate cold water. Hope this helps, good luck !

Nox 600 for 3 or so years and early this year went to the Nox 900. Best on target separation of any previous detector I had and probably the deepest (both). HH jim n
