Z- lynk problems

Hi, has anyone ever opened up the transmitter or receiver to replace power cells or would it be easier to buy new. Out of warranty so not an issue.

NO, I haven't had any problems with any of my Z-Lynk systems. I'll remind readers that I never abuse my detectors or other gear. Pampered would be a good description.

I have 3 Apex devices, different coils mounted, and each has its own set of MS3 HeDphones and their own AT Propointer all Z-lynked up. I also have Tx/Rx sets with TX plugged into my Fisher F75+ with its own set of MS3 Headphones and AT Propointer. Next month I pl an to get another TX/RX set. And Headphones & AT Propointer for my XLT.

I have not had any negative experience with any of these Z-Lynk devices or products. If one was defective I wouhld get it to Garrett for service, or if "worn out" I would repair or replace it and not fiddle with it myself.

Charge it fully. Unplug it and charge it again right away. If it get full quick, bad battery. If it takes as long as the first time, unplug and plug back in. Sometimes a charge will stop before the battery is truly charged up. It sure made my XP headphones hold a charge longer. It's worth a try.
