Zinc signals at 6" or more are usually not zinc

Heck we all know Indian head pennies will come in as zinc due to their mettalic content..a point to remember the real old ones will even come in as square tabs..Dial in extreme depth, turned coins, worn coins, coins next to iron etc. etc. it behooves us to investigate especially if in a real old area lest we miss a nice coin. I realize an Explorer gives us several ways to determine the good from the bad, but even the best of us can get fooled by the aforementioned situations..

Before we got good with the explorer we would of killed for a couple Indian heads. Now we want more. Or we are just spoiled  Those are great finds. Two Indian heads equal good time out in anyones book. Or at least they should. Grats, Jim

Yeah. I just got my first IH w/ the Explorer and I was quite happy about it. I'd be real happy w/ 2 IHs in the same day. I'm still trying to break my U.S. silver date barrier--a no-date SLQ (but that was with my Sov).
