GOLD BUG PRO ???

I have the Gold bug 1-- 19 htz small coil , I want to up grade to the Gold bug Pro its also 19-htz/ Now will the old coil work at the same htz on the new Gold bug pro ?????

One might also consider the Bounty Hunter Time Ranger Pro. 399. Same as g2+/f19. I’m actually tempted at it. They are such a solid and well mannered machine. They go pretty deep with a bigger coil. 2 tone limitation is ok with these machines also, since the ID is amazingly steady and accurate. Also the disc is great without much bleedthrough and no real noticeable loss in depth at higher disc settings. They are extremely useful where there is bad EMI. I will always have some form of these for that reason alone.

Some people call the original big square control box Gold Bug (which later became the Gold Bug II) a Gold Bug 1 so I am not sure about your question. If instead, you want to upgrade from the small control box with the big display Gold Bug which looks almost exactly like the Gold Bug Pro, all of the coils you have will be interchangeable.

Like many above, I would recommend you get a Fisher F19, Teknetics G2+ or the Bounty Hunter Time Ranger Pro. They have even more features than the Gold Bug Pro which are very helpful for coin, jewelry and relic hunting. If you mostly are a gold prospector like me, the features are not as helpful. All of these 19 kHz FTP detectors have one of the best threshold based All Metal modes on the market.

T2 coils are not compatible with the Gold Bug, F19, Tek G2+ or Time Ranger Pros.

If only they added tone options and a boost mode....if only. They do everything very well, they just require too large of a coil for truly deep targets. Gets a little unwieldy in the brush at times. I’m in good shape and it will get my wrist sore after 4-5 hours in the woods. It still has found me more CW bullets in challenging sites than the T2 or the Kruzer. In fact I trust it more for deep bullets with a 13” coil than I do my other machines. Max gain all the time on these machines. No problem.

A few Guys including myself aquired a f19 toward the end of last year....my f19 has a start up date 11/19....
I have honestly dug 10" deep relics with the 5 x 10 coil while still holding a good strong tone...
I have heard this series had a program tweek and I believe it...myself including the Guys I know dont want to sell their 11/19 series ...
If you can find one I honestly recommend getting one you will not be disappointed....
Its a keeper....hh. joe

Maybe the time ranger pro has this little extra spark too?
I have Tabman’s old Gold Bug Pro. I think it’s from 2015. It will give just a whisper on an 8” dime with a Nel tornado coil. Gives the same whisper on a 12” minie ball also. May have to get another one, F19,G2, or more likely the TRP just to compare in the test garden.

Read where the TRP might not have all the bells and whistles as the 19....but may have been just talk...hh. joe

The Time Ranger Pro has the same features as the F19. I have used one. Whether they are as hot as the 11/19 F19s ???????
