Has anyone tried the new 14” Octagon Vista X coil? It looks amazing and apparently has awesome depth capabilities. I believe it’s only available from www.omnitron.pl The proprietor Shelton is a well-respected detectorist who frequents many different forums. It’s definitely on my wish list come Christmas, as the 11” coil which comes as standard with the Vista X is super deep already!

Thank you for that info Richard. Now you’ve definitely got me excited regarding trying the new 14” octagon coil on the vista X

I have one in stock.. If I have an opportunity I may stick it on and do some test with it. working with the Pro Series now.. Report is that not only does it increase coverage but also gives a nice increase in depth.. Thanks Richard

Looks like the X doesn't like iron.
Detecta thanks for sharing the Vista X iron test with the forum. Here in the UK we normally hunt into the iron by setting the discrimination as low as possible, usually around the 9 o’clock position where possible. Many moons ago when I first started detecting an old timer taught me if you aren’t digging any iron, you’re definitely leaving good finds in the ground! Personally, I’m very happy with the performance of the Vista X. it’s a very powerful metal detector with the added bonus of full dual discrimination pots. I also own the Vista Gold Gain which is in a league of its own when it comes to separation amongst iron!

Here’s a link to a YouTube video regarding the Vista X recovery speed by a well-respected and very successful metal detectorist based in the UK:

Detecta thanks for also posting the video regarding the 14” octagon coil. The gentleman who made the video goes by the user name Shelton on the various forums and is renowned for his truthful opinions.

I have a Vista X with 11 & 6" coils and it's a great detector, I have no problems with it. It was a short learning curve due to using a Tesoro Cibola, Sovereign XS2 which I still have. I set my disc at 20 and alt disc on 38 and that will get rid of most trash and still pick up all predecimal Australian coins no problems. If I want to look for only $1 & $2 coins I'll use my Etrac or Nox 800. The Vista X is relaxing and a joy to use.

Detecta you’ve got a really good selection of machines to cope with any detecting scenario! Nowadays I only have two TID machines, full XP Deus and the Equinox 800. All my other detectors are DeepTech!

Thanks for sharing those vids. That 14 coil is a beast!
