Remote will not shut off and it has blank screens where programs used to be.

No matter what I do I cannot shut down my Deus. It keeps coming back on. And when it is on there are blank screens where programs used to be. So now it is dead because the battery ran down due to the inability to shut it off. Is there a quick fix for this problem or is it broken. Where do I send it in for repairs if I can't solve this problem.

Do you happen to have the mi6 Pinpointer and if so was it turned on being paired to your deus and not turned off correctly???

When I try to charge it, it turns itself off and on over and over. Thanks for the address and phone number.

Sounds like the on/off button has stuck in the depressed position.
The top face with keyboard is part D081 and is simple to replace. Plug and play.
Oh and they run about $40.00 plus shipping.

All of my XP equipment has run flawlessly and I’ve never had anything fail. Come to think of it I don’t often hear of problems on the forums either. I’m sure it happens I’ve just not noticed much of it. Hope your problem is fixed quickly

Although reliable I’m glad I’ve got both and Orx setup as well as a Deus Lite setup. Gives me more settings choices, a full backup machine in case of a problem or just loss of charge on some part. Used to have other machines but have scaled back to just these two now. I feel these two detectors suit me and my style
( woods and relic hunting) best and I’m getting more able to intuitively make dig- no dig choices that result in more keepers and less junkers. My best finds last two weeks pictured below.

Did you resolve the problem? My Deus just started having a similar problem. I can turn it off, but 2 of the program slots are blank (audio still works), and the menu screen is also blank. I'm thinking I will take it apart and check the keyboard.

I reloaded (upgraded) the controller, coil, and headphones today with v5.21, and it still does the same thing. I adjusted the contrast and it all works normally. I opened it up and everything looks brand new in there. I didn't look at the keypad contacts because it is integrated into the front cover, incased in plastic, but the buttons seem to work just fine.

The software was current before the "upgrade" so if there is a way to go back to factory settings and a complete replacement of the software, that might help.

No, I don't think it got wet. I was by a lake when it stopped working, but I never dropped it. I was moving along and heard a signal and looked to see the graph and it was blank.

Here is another clue: I think the programs that use the XY screens are the ones that are blank.

Configurations screens all work, but the menu screens are blank (but the buttons seem to still move through the invisible menus).

Never had this problem but I heard somebody say a piece of grit got stuck in the keypad. Easy enough to use a vacuum cleaner and press the buttons to see if there is something stuck. Maybe hold it upside down so any grit will be removed easier.

Yes, I have done that with all 3 versions. I guess I will have to send it to Massachusetts.

In one of the versions, one screen shows but fades out from top to bottom. That tells me it might be the LCD. That will cost about $50 for them to fix it.

Sounds like the only option at this point. Hopefully it's a simple fix and it will be back to you quickly...
