Does anyone do this????

I’d go back with the equinox stock coil. For the size it sure can still pluck goodies out of junk infested areas.

Until you experiment you will never know. Learn from your failures and be humble with your knowledge.

The area I found the Egale button, 22 wheat pennys, 1861 seated dime etc.. I have used the EQ 800 WITH THE 6" coil.
Tomorrow I will go back with the new to me XP Deus with the elliptical coil.
& detect the area again? What do you guys think? & Gals
Absolutely, I always do and would say most others as well. Go slow, best of luck.

Good luck, stay safe and HH.

It's the first thing I always do with a new machine. I go to the trashiest of places first and see how well it unmasks compared to the detector before it. It's a great way to learn the new machines target ID's and tones as well.

There's no doubt that going over a beaten sit with another machine or even a different coil can bring some surprises. Even hunting from a different direction will help. I find myself digging more questionable (iffy) targets while hunting these type of sites. Which brings some surprises once in a while. Always something left.

Yeah, and those "iffy" targets often can be the more pleasant of surprises. HH jim tn

Doesn't digging up what might be a coin wasting time when you should be spending it digging what should be a coin?

Elmy, one is defiantly wasting time on what might be a coin if one doesn't like a pleasant surprise once in a while. HH jim tn
Like a gopher on caddy shack ? Or a guy swinging a nox ? Not for me , I have to have a reason to dig.

Sure...anytime I can dig 10 good for 12 targets or 11 for 11 good targets or even 28 for 32 .....you can have the trash I leave....it's the etrac magic.
Better yet, I could follow you as you will have already dug the trash out for me .
