I searched around an old 1800's house for a while today, but the high winds made me quit early.
I did manage a couple nice finds though before calling it quits.
I'm still looking that for "D" mintmark....
The large cent was about 7" deep.
From what I can make out, it looks to date from 1796-1807.
I also found part of a flat button and a wheat penny.

That merc dime is in beautiful condition!! Too bad it lacks a “D”
Nice score on the large cent too! I hope you can get a bit more detail / date off of it. You did very well and hope you find more treasures!! Knowing the age of the property you might even find a gold coin

Felix, that is a nice mercury dime for being a 1916! Had to make your heart beat faster when you saw the date. Great find.

I always liked wheat cents.. and I remember 10 years ago kept digging ALL the cent signals with my dfx... unlike the equinox.. very easy to distinguish between wheaties and zincolns... I kept thinking keep digging those wheaties and you will hit a 1909 vdb... and I eventually did! No "S" but... my goal was just a vdb... and got it...

Still a very nice find even without the"D" and nice condition!
