WTB Fisher 8" coil for old 1266X

slowry

Actually, I may (or may not) need a 1266x 8" inch coil. Just picked up an old 1266Xb off of Ebay and the detector coil has one of the shaft clamps busted off of the coil. Also, the seller was selling it as "non tested". Could very well be a fool's purchase, but for 50 bucks I couldn't resist. Won't arrive for a week or so, but if you have an old 8" coil for the 1266x taking up space, let me know what you want for it.
Again, the purchase was for a non tested 1266x, so I may get the detector in, find out it doesn't run and toss it back on Ebay for parts. We'll see, let me know in the mean time if you have an old coil you want to part with. Thanks!
p.s. been sooooo long ago that I had a 1266x, I can't remember if they ever made a smaller coil (5" or 6"??) for the 1266x. If so, I might be interested in something smaller if no one has an 8".

Appreciate the reply C.J.M. Being listed as "not tested" is probably going to end up arriving D.O.A. but we'll see. And you're absolutely correct, parts are hard to come by. Stay tuned.

Yeah, I saw that one also, but the 1266x is already a pretty heavy beast w/o a coil and compared to a lot of detectors today. That's why I'm hoping to hook up with a 8 inch. My last detector was my old, trusty Tesoro Eldorado Umax; which I believe was weighing in at something like 2.98 lbs?? Push comes to shove, if the 1266x isn't D.O.A., I guess I could try and fix the included coil (see attached) with the broken ear. Retired, and this 1266x might get put into use like 3 or 4 times a year at most. Anywho, thanks for the tip C.J.M.

Thanks C.J.M. It just arrived today. It powers up and detects! Wasn't DOA, but in fair shape with some issues, like two small corner cracks in the carry case, no rubber coil grommets or nylon wing nut and a tiny chip at the very tip of the lower rod (not noticeable, pretty much cosmetic. Got $50 plus shipping into it right now, going to consider whether to keep it or pass it on for what it cost me. I'll let ya know if I don't want to keep and you can decide if it's something you want.
