Might try sending a message straight to one of the Mods on the forum ,, that would probably be best . Just my opinion .If we as forum members have been burned by a dealer, and we can prove it, can we post a heads up on the forum to alert others ?….If not, why not ?
I have brought this up several times over the last couple months along with the story. Basically gave away the name not in entirety but you should be able to figure it out.It would only be fair to know the entire situation, a purchase or repair should be a cut and dried thing so it sounds like there are extenuating circumstances. I know the OP has been around for a long time so they likely have a valid complaint. I guess we would need to know the entire story without actually naming the dealer, at least not now…and not without the blessing of the mods if the dealer is a sponsor.
Nope because they spend alot of money advertising, you think they will cut one of the main sources of incomeMight try sending a message straight to one of the Mods on the forum ,, that would probably be best . Just my opinion .
Don’t get me going with self professed “Christians”……BIG BELLS go off in my head !!….I have brought this up several times over the last couple months along with the story. Basically gave away the name not in entirety but you should be able to figure it out.
Other dealers and even the manufacturer said they totally screwed up. They not only blatantly screwed me out of money but also cost the manufacturer money because they stepped up even though they didn’t have too. There are some that defend the dealer not sure the relationship there or “ i never had any problems with them “
Well sure if everything goes smoothly nothing to complain about, its how you handle if there ever is a problem is what matters. Any Joe Shmo can ship out an item and if all goes well then no problem.
But if you received the item damaged reported it right away and they are basically like sorry for your luck see ya later don’t call me again, then we have a problem.
Ironically they are a big sponsor, considered a big dealer with obviously plenty of advertising money and call themselves” christian” with “ best customer service in the industry “
Last I checked that’s called hypocrisy.
Been down that road with Ebay, even when the big company that screwed me admitted not sending the product…I threatened them with contacting the Attny General….I had my money back in a week !Nope because they spend alot of money advertising, you think they will cut one of the main sources of income
Well at least you got your money back i didn’t ask for money back just another one that wasn’t totally damaged beyond use when I received it.Been down that road with Ebay, even when the big company that screwed me admitted not sending the product…I threatened them with contacting the Attny General….I had my money back in a week !
When the Omega that I purchased from "The Best In The Industry", many years back, didn't work on arrival, I got a "you'll have to take it up with the the manufacturer, that's all I can tell ya . . . goodbye". I have purchased MANY high end detectors since then and I cam tell you that I don't even CONSIDER asking for a quote from that dude! His loss, not mine!
Well ,, I'm not going to say you're right or wrong here ,, but I'd let them know anyway .Nope because they spend alot of money advertising, you think they will cut one of the main sources of income
I agree and so did other dealers who know, so does the manufacture, and other hobbyists. The only one who doesn’t seem to understand this is the one particular dealer. It should be this way…if I buy an item from YOU ( an individual, business, company, etc) when something goes wrong I expect YOU to follow it up and make it right. If YOU used a certain shipper or drop shipped my item from a certain warehouse, I as the customer who paid YOU expect what I paid for, nothing more or less. Years ago I had FedEx break a tractor part I had sent, it was a couple hundred dollar loss and was obviously mangled in shipping. FedEx tried wiggling out of it and said their drivers are subcontractors over who they have no control and it’s on them yadda yadda. I took them to court and the judge agreed that when I did business with FedEx, if something goes wrong while it’s in their custody, whether it was a subcontractor or not, that they were responsible for the loss. They paid me 240$.
If someone sells you a lemon, something is broken or something wasn’t sent at all…as I see it, YOU as the merchant who TAKES MY MONEY are responsible for completing a good transaction. There are people on both sides of business who are looking to make a buck or take advantage of someone, particularly on a technicality. I’d like to think the vast majority of transactions are correct with all of our vendors, that’s how we get our stuff! I have done business twice with the one I think we are talking about here and things were excellent. I’m not defending any bad dealings if they were purposeful, I’d like to think business is being done with good intentions. Some situations do occasionally come up which are difficult for both vendor and customer though, and the days of “the customer is always right” left awhile ago.
I don’t know how much money they make per month on the major advertisers but i am willing to bet it’s enough not to ban or penalize them. What do you really think it would do or change if i did?Well ,, I'm not going to say you're right or wrong here ,, but I'd let them know anyway .
Maybe nothing ,, maybe something .I don’t know how much money they make per month on the major advertisers but i am willing to bet it’s enough not to ban or penalize them. What do you really think it would do or change if i did?
here is the way I look at it, any one that gets burned be it by another individual or a dealer the individual or dealer keeping that from everyone else is doing no one any good, all they are truly doing is covering up the fact that they got burned, if it is put out there for everyone to be made aware of then and only then will a dealer or individual stop screwing people over for an individual people will quit dealing with that individual same goes for a dealer people cannot stop dealing with a individual or dealer if they do not know who the individual or dealer is and it is just that simple, you can bet the bank on it if I get burned by an individual or dealer the whole world is going to know it LOL
To even have it out on the internet would never be worth 50$ or 80$ to me, and at some point it IS about the principle. If a vendor were to help me out in a situation like this, I would be very inclined to continue to buy things there, this eventually recouping that cost and then some. Word of mouth goes a long way and having any bad reviews online to ME would be unacceptable. Some can’t be avoided but I would try my level best to turn any customer frown upside down! It’s just the cost of doing business, which some are simply unwilling to absorb.I did say something after it happened and obviously still warning about it. What i was reluctant to say publicly was the name and that was in part out of respect for the manufacturer who stepped up even though they didn’t have too. That speaks volumes of the manufacturer how much they care about their customers much more than the dealer obviously.
I definitely am not hiding and defending the bad dealer as if anyone wants to know they can pm me and i will give them enough information to figure it out.
Fact is people are still going to buy from him anyway as they have said “ i never had any issues with him”. all i can do is warn people while still taking the high road and be the better person.
I can guarantee you that if you got burned by say a chevy, ford dealership or any other dealer of products you can picket until Your blue in the face and people will still go there and buy.
The odds are very minimal that you will receive your item damaged and until you do and it happens to you most will still probably buy. Say I publicly said his name and story on here what are the chances everyone on here will boycott him? He also advertises on the other forum and all of the internet so I doubt it will put him out of business but im sure this is enough to cost him more than the $80 he screwed me out of.
Hope it was worth it to him
I have had businesses and understand dealing with the public very well. Yes some will try and get away with anything and there is a cost to doing business. This was obviously not the case. If you can’t float $50 you probably shouldn’t be in business for one. But i don’t think that is even the case as advertising all over the internet is very expensive but the excuse I received as to why he charged his mind from sending a new one to why he couldn’t.To even have it out on the internet would never be worth 50$ or 80$ to me, and at some point it IS about the principle. If a vendor were to help me out in a situation like this, I would be very inclined to continue to buy things there, this eventually recouping that cost and then some.
