Hello from Pittsburgh!

Hello. I have been detecting for quite a few years and have been a member of the local club for a little over 6 years. I started off with a Bounty Hunter Lone star, moved up to a Teknetics Patriot and now running a Nox 800 - couldn't pass up the deal I found this past fall. I do all kinds of detecting - parks, finding old home sites and what not. This year will be the year to start door knocking. If anyone has a Coiltek 10x5 that they are willing to part with please PM me. I have been using the 6" quite often and would like the happy medium a coil. Thanks! Mark

Welcome to the forum from a fellow western PA detectorist, good choice on the Nox, it is a great detector. I don't have the Coiltek 5x10 but I am sure it will give you better ground coverage and still have excellent separation and depth. Even the little 6 inch has pretty good depth for it's size, I have found a lot of good targets with the 6 inch coil in heavy nail infestation areas. GL HH

Hello from the other side of the state Go PA. I just got a chance to use the 6 inch coil a club (SCMDC) member had. ITS a sniper rifle. Loved it for picking through trash and great in the brush.

Mark, another Mark from Pittsburgh here. Used an 800 since Feb. of 18 till I got the 900 in December of 22. I hunt with the 6in. almost exclusively. I tried the 10x5. Roughly 50 outings. Yards, city parks mostly. Its an ok coil but IMO the 6 in. does a better job. I dug a 10 + in. Barber dime with the 6 in. last year in one of the parks. I sold the 10x5 and have no regrets. Just my two cents. By the way what club do you belong to ?
