Well, I'm back from the OBX beach week.... Theres many words I could use on how it went..

Yes bud,the sovereign is making a return......just about to order a nel tornado for it just to gain a bit more ground coverage.
I will send some news for you soon.....its still a madhouse here.I can't believe your friends still trust the bbc, especially affter they stiched together video on Trumps speech to make it look like he said things he didn't.........i can only suggest they are just part of the gormless masses.🙄
Get the 13" ultimate coil.
Love it on my GT.
Very light for the size.
Except for the 15" it goes the deepest of all my coils I have.

but lets keep this PG... First, the trip ( not detecting ) was great. Weather got better as the week progressed. Sunshine and low 80 "s wed, thurs, fri.
Now the detecting. If theres a word thats 5 levels below F'N horrible I'll go with that !! Conditions were great, ie. low tide areas were hard packed sand, not the soft mushy type that your feet sink 8 inches to. Detector operated wonderfully, if/when you ever went over something. PEOPLE, there was NOTHING THERE !! After approximately 15 hrs of hunting I came home with this shoot me into the next tax bracket total of........ 1 quarter....... 5 dimes......... 5 pennies.........1 nickel and ..... Wait for it.... 2 fishing weights. period !! No junk in the upper sand areas too, tho I really spent most of my time in the low tide areas.

More to discuss in another thread.

Mark Dec, Jan,Feb, of 2025 at PCB Florida. Was My absolute worst hunting of my life. This place was a Gold and coin mine until they replenished the beach going on 4 years ago. It got so bad, I packed up my gear 2 weeks before we left for home. 3 months, little less than $11 ! There was 6 days I got completely skunked, nada. Week before I packed it in I did find A very thin Gold 14K ring. Get this , scrap value less than $5. Back home $1,300 over the counter. Go figure? Guys I know down there now are finding Zip mostly

Until replenishing PCB was like Dodge City. Cuts shallow and deep along the shore. Wading up to nipple deep, with sandbar protection on the gulf side generally. If it was metal it was there to find. Than came the Covid, the replenishment, every body using credit cards, buying tats and cell phones instead of jewelry. Some guy named Tunston must have a 100 wifes his wedding bands are everywhere. One thing a buddy last year scooped up a expensive cell from the drink. Machine in Wal-Mart gave him $70 for it. So there's that.

We will be down there in February ... with an excursion planned for New Orleans part way through the week.

I was on the beach in North Myrtle Beach yesterday and they are setting up for another beach replenishment. Considering that nearly every drain for street water run-off that empties onto the beach is covered with enough sand that the municipality is digging them out every day with backhoes, it sure seems replenishment is a huge waste of money right now.

There seems to be no place to go. Last year sometimes we would bump into some local people from 3 hrs away hoping to hit a good beach. Like the Grave digger said. " Welcome to the land of Nada "

To bad we can't use an 18" suction dredge on a giant 4×4 chassis.
With high pressure nozzles around the intake to blast a stir up the sands as it sucks them into the sluice box.

That'd clean up All the Old stuff.

😇

Ever seen those high pressure water diggers used to water blast with giant suction hose ?
We use them to dig big power pole holes in congested areas.
Big gas water and sewer lines.
Doesn't damage them.

Just have a lot bigger on the beach and able to reach bedrock.

I've seen guys doing that on Nome beaches though 4-6".
Did purty good.
