Tesoro Bandido

Have this coming in a few days, as can be seen the shaft mount has been snapped off. Are these moulded into the case or do they slide/clip into place? Thanks.

I don't have a bandido, but on my sand shark, which uses a similar style case, it is molded on. You'll have to do some plastic welding or sand it off, I think.

It looks like it's two parts. But the shaft mount seems to be glued in. Just push'n'slide doesn't work on mine.
If I had to remove the stem holding part I'd use some isopropanol alcohol on the seam. If that doesn't work, I'd put it into the oven at 80°C/175°F leaving the ovens door OPEN and check the connection from time to time.
But before doing anything I'd remove the electronics. This can be done by removing the two srews which hold the beltplate in position.
regards

Hello @GazinUK . It would be nice to know what the switch on its back is for. "fixed" -??🙄 - GB? Threshold?
Can you tell when it arrived, plz.

You can make a new mount. just get yourself a piece of aluminum channel. Drill two screw holes in the bottom of the channel. Line the channel on top of the controlbox, drill two identical holes. Drill two holes on the sides to match the holes on the handle. Get some screws , washer and nuts.
attach the new mount to the control box and bolt the controlbox to the handle. That is the basic idea. Look at the Tesoro Tigershark to get a better idea how to make the new mount. You can get alum. channel at Homedepot or any other hardware store. If you have a Metals Superstore near you, should be able to buy a small piece cheap.

Done the same.
I would only recommend opening the detector.
To be certain you don't drill into anything if you need to drill holes.
