AT Pro saves day for neighbor

Dancer

Well-known member
No record for many of you but here in Pittsburgh Area experiencing minus zero temps after 8" of snow. Frozen pipes, icy roads, snow drifts. Were all getting it. So I get a call ,young neighbor lost.his work truck keys while snow blowing everybody's parking spots. Boss says he gotta have that truck on the job now. Can I help? Grabbed the Pro, started scanning where he left off . Had a really good hit early ( gas line ). Worked our way up to his truck. Wouldn't you know, right where he started about 10 -12 inches in a drift, bingo. A wave of relief washed over the young guy. Gave me a bear hug, jumped into the truck and went to work. Others aren't so lucky. Peoples houses burning down, busting arms and legs on ice. Some girl slid over a hill into the Mon river to drown under the ice. Killing over shovel ing snow. You name it. If you gotta go out use your head. Ran in Pro Zero discrimination, Max sensitivity. Boy had a good idea about where the keys were lost.

Great job.
Sad about the girl.

Been hearing a lot of sad incidents on the scanner.
SDS 100 mobile. SDS 200 base unit.
Best scanner I've ever owned.
As an emergency responder I've run scanners over 40 yrs.
Love how I can search in seconds for Talk Group ID's. TGID's.
Even if they just made them.

Our local tac has been working with ICE and homeland for a couple weeks now.
Big nursery farming area.
Many people on Visa's here

Being Very secretive.

I'll bet it's happening like this around the country actually.

Not a peep on the news.
And No protestors.
They've been using those daily new channels.
Not many search for new stuff like I do I guess.
Just preloaded stuff.

I do have too much time on my hands. LoL
Disabled sucks ...

Good on you Dancer, you made that guys day and spread some good p.r. for the hobby. Over here in the South Hills we got closer to 12. And that was with my official snow measuring technique. How much lays flat on the tonneau cover of my truck. Ha ha. A shame about that girl, hope her doing something stupid, like texting and driving is not what cost her, her life. And hats off to those divers that went in after her. I heard a weather man say unless we get some 40 degree temps with rain it could be mid to late March before we see the grass again. Not something I wanted to hear. Anyway well done helping the kid out. Stay warm

Thanks for the post and giving all of us a good reputation. I remember finding a ring that a lady lost snow shovelling. I searched for quite a while, then bang! A shallow target in the 80's, in the snow showed up and sure enough, out came the ring. I too got a hug. And the weather sure is crazy at this time of year all over the place. Everyone please stay safe!
