Eyeball find - gold?

Found this today walking across a parking lot. No stamp, but the stud is missing and as far as I know, that is where the stamp normally is. When looking at it, I noticed that it is not plated, as the color runs through it (see broken ends). It was also heavier than I would have expected for costume jewelry. It is not hollow and as small as it is, it weighs a fairly hefty 2.268 grams. I really need to buy a testing kit and now I have a good reason to do so. So, opinions on it, gold or no.

Then they will ask if u want to sell it !!!! There is a new gold plating called ion plating. Looks so good. Doesnt tarnish. Holds its color. Looks like the real thing but fake. Nowadays, gold is too expensive, so most buy the fake stuff.

Just from looking at the last photo I would say not gold, I can see where the "silver" looking metal is there under the gold color.

I would walk the line the snowplows left at the perimeter of those parking lots.

Found a lot of junk jewelry.

Though over the years I found a few nice pricey items.

Nice I’ve had a few rings on the surface this one was from a dredged beach date is 1958 right on the surface after a storm washed it off the pile

What I was keyed in on was the weight. This thing is less than half the size of a 14k wedding band I found a couple of years ago and weighs nearly half as much. Too heavy to be silver I think.

Could be plated tungsten.
Have it tested. Then you'll know for sure.

Yeah, believe I'll just order a gold test kit. Obviously comes in handy.
