Last hunt of 2013 with Big Digger, Bryce, and Deeponedge a few days ago

This hunt was obviously a few days ago when we had the freak 50+ degree temps at the end of December. All four of of us made some decent finds and it was great to be able to squeeze in one more hunt. I know Bryce ended 2013 with over 100 silver on the SE and over 100 silver on the E-Trac. I...

My first above average find of the year:thumbup:

Got out with Big Digger, Bryce, and Deeponedge and had a nice time in some fields. We all made a find or two and it was nice to enjoy some decent temps. I think Bryce is up over 20 silver already this year, and Brad and Darrel each got one too. This is my first large cent of 2013...and I will...

Ancient picnic grove/field hunt with Big Digger, Bryce, and Herk:smile:

Got out with B-Rad, Bryce, and Hercules Sunday afternoon in the 70 degree weather here in IL. B-Rad had researched and located an old picnic site and a field that dated back from the early to mid 1800's...and also obtained permission for us. Before we started I decided to help myself to a bag...

Some field hunting with Big Digger and Bryce

Did some hunting over the nice weekend with Bryce, Brad, and Hercules at a field site B-Rad (Big Digger) researched for us. [attachment 249550 davebradootie.jpg] Bryce did all the picture taking for me as you can see. It was nice he could go with us since we were close to home because I know...

    Fairgrounds Park St. Louis hunt

Big Digger and I went to St. Louis to hunt this park for a few hours even though we were warned it wasn't so safe. Bryce couldn't get the day off but he told us an area where he did pretty well and found his first bust dime at a few years ago..so that is is the end of the park we...

Bryce I see Guv took you up on the idea.:clapping:

I was hoping he would after you mentioned it to me. I love this type of forum because I just don't have time to peruse all the forums to see what other hunters are finding. Thanks Guvner; this will be a great addition to findmall.:please:

    Yard Hunt 10/24/12

Hunted a yard this morning that I had been eyeballing for a few months now. No Bryce along today as I think he headed to St. Louis to hunt very early this morning so I had all the goodies to myself:smile: Im glad I stopped and asked for permission because even though I didn't make any...

Went for a short hunt today and got a nice Barber dime.

Unfortunately I accidently deleted 3 of the 5 pictures that Bryce took for me when I tried to resize them. Oh well at least you can tell what I found. Bryce and I got to hunt for maybe an hour at the most but it was fun. Enjoy the back of my barber dime...lol...and the pic of Hercules...

Back to the filling station site with Bryce and Brad.

Me, Brad, and Bryce decided to go back to the old filling station site a few days ago to see if we had missed anything on our first trip. [attachment 177427 fieldhuntb.jpg] We sure did,,,and had a good time too. Brad found his first ever wheat penny which made us all happy. Especially Bryce...

    What the heck is THIS??:yikes:

This thing was a foot deep and has the back of a capped bust coin but its made of something HEAVY?? It almost feels too heavy for copper but is for sure not silver. I was hunting the site of an old stagecoach stop with Bryce and Darrel which was in use from the 1820's til late 1800's. Does...

Finally found my first Indian Head cent tonight.

When we hunted the haunted church the other night; Bryce let me hear what that deep indian head sounded like before he dug it; I was hoping it was just a matter of time before I got one. It was driving me crazy because I wanted one so badly. I found this one about 8" deep tonight while Bryce and...

What kind of plugs do some of you dig in parks and schools?

I know the way Bryce has taught me but he told me to fire this question out there to learn some different methods. Sometimes the ground is nice and easy to dig while other times it isn't so what way do some of you dig plugs.

My first ever Barber coins and they were both in the same hole.

I hunted with Bryce-IL over the weekend and had a lot of fun. Being able to listen to signals when he calls me over has helped more than you can imagine. It took me a while and it even got dark on us but I finally dug my first barber coin. In fact I dug 2 because they were in the same hole. I...
