    Great find man!

    What do I have?

I am very new to native artifacts so my knowledge base is pretty low. I do have an idea of what this may be but I’d like some informed opinions from folks in the know on this type of stuff. Found in a farm field in Southern Iowa/Northern Missouri. Sandstone/Soapstone. Appears to have been...

Think I Found The Old Home Place

That well is mid 1800s for sure if not earlier. Stone lined wells predate 1900 by quite a lot. That will be a great site!

Think I Found The Old Home Place

Great finds! Crazy how that shank got bent like that without breaking.

    Great looking pair of birds!

Eagle button gun tool & Confederate lead.

Definitely a bucket attachment. Good heavy brass. Found one not too long ago myself. Cool finds!

    Bucket lister I think?

Well sorry for playing the heel here but these were cool finds regardless of my opinion! Good job on the sterling!

    Bucket lister I think?

Gather more opinions to be sure sir but that’s my worthless evaluation anyway lol I’ve had a couple finds before that I appreciated being corrected on. The want sometimes outweighs the reality lol

    Bucket lister I think?

I’m not trying to rain on your find I promise. I would encourage you to look up the backmark on your button and see what you come up with.

    Bucket lister I think?

I could be completely in the wrong here but I believe that button dates much later than the civil war based off the back mark. The Waterbury Button Company changed its name to Waterbury Companies Inc. in 1943 I do believe. I hate to be “that guy” but this is a more modern re-enactor’s button...

Hello all. Hope this site is open to new info on our past world and new facts that change everything we know. Here is my most recent finds on Texas.

I agree sir. There is no such thing as a “giant”. Ancient peoples average height was only around 5’4” and even up until the mid 1900s the average height was around 5’8”. Like you said occasionally there are the anomaly’s, Shaquille O’Neil or any Strongman competitor being prime examples. Could...

Any idea on what this piece might be Ism?

    Just my 2Cents…

It’s a good question Ism. I have had similiar scenarios as well. I just chalk it up to ground moisture, chemicals if in a crop field, and just coin material.
