    Manticore update?

I have had my EQ 900 since April 2023 and the VID numbers can be a bit "wide" on some targets...sometimes varying by as much as 4 VID numbers. I can still pretty much tell what I am about to dig and the VID variance is not bad, but was thinking the reason for the expanded ID range was to help...

    Equinox 800 noisy

I have a ferrite core clip/bead attached to the coil cable a couple of inches from the control head on my Equinox 600 and 900. They are supposed to reduce RFI and EMI interference. Since I started putting them on, I seem to have reduced the amount of interference when detecting around power...

    Ferrite ring clip.

Big Tony: If you notice where the ferrite ring coils are attached to computer, printers or other devices, they are always attached near the device not further away. This is I assume, to prevent as much EMI from other electronic devices nearby, to get into and affect the device. So, that is...

    Ferrite ring clip.

Big Tony: Did not get mine online. It was on a power cord that I had that was just laying around. Just out of curiosity, I unclipped it from the power cord and attached it my Equinox coil wire. I think it was in another forum somewhere that I read where some folks had tried this as well as...

    Ferrite ring clip.

JCT TX: No, It did not seem compromise the performance at all. I used the same settings that I normally use and found items that rang up the same ID numbers and tones as normal. So, I can only deduce that the ferrite clip helped in some way to reduce the EMI that normally would have plagued...

    Ferrite ring clip.

Went detecting over the weekend with my Equinox 600 in a field that has a major electric power transmission line running right down the middle of it and therefore, has lots of EMI issues. Normally, I am constantly having to noise cancel or go to single frequencies to try and alleviate as much...

    Found this broken utensil.

Found this item that was either a fork or spoon. It has a Morison (?) stamp on it. Can’t find anything on the internet concerning this brand. It was found in an area where there was some Civil War activity. Can anyone ID this relic?? Much obliged if anyone can!!

    Dug 96 Times Today..!!

Fastdraw, those were some good finds!! I have a go to local park that gives up coins every time I go. Basically learned how to use my EQ 600 in this park finding assorted items and learning how the machine reacted to the various targets. What helped immensely, was I could find anything from...
