Issue with ground balance and modulation

Rob is correct! If you ground balance, then loc track and THEN adjust your gains, your ground balance will be off because the detector is seeing a different field of soil than it was previously set to with a different set of gains.

    the magic program for V3i

    Glad you like my program!

Why some hate and love the V3i?

You can save what you have changed under the same name or..as a different named program all together. Example.. I hunt in Ky a lot but I use different settings there. I have two programs that I use there with the right changes that I need called KY 1 and KY 2. But remember, there are some...

TONE WORKS W/HEADPHONES / NOT HEARING ANYTHING WHEN HEADPHONES OUT

Go to your wireless settings and in there you will see a box that says speaker...make sure that box is checked.

Why some hate and love the V3i?

There are stock programs on the V3i that are just a general generic program. You can run them but you probably won't get the best out of your detector. It needs to be tweaked for your specific area. That is the one thing I love about the V3i is its adjustability. Other detectors do not have...

    How many do you have?

Well, it's the middle of winter and I have already lined up about 10 new sites for spring. This is the time of year to prepare for the up coming season. Lots of research! Also, this is a year with some substantial snow where I am at so this is going to be a good spring for gold ring hunting on...

    VX3 upgrade

Sorry, didn't realize it was already posted....

    VX3 upgrade

This is from Carl at Whites... The VX3 has had no software upgrades. The so-called daughterboard is not a daughterboard; it is what we call the "DAQ board" (data acquisition). It is exactly the same DAQ board and exactly the same processor code as used on the V3i, and has not changed since the...

    Depth and Accuracy...with the v3i

Ok, I've been told that for some reason, some ground will act that way. One way to try and correct the problem is to use correlate and open up the span. the VDI # should read closer.

    Depth and Accuracy...with the v3i

Look here.. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?66,1319867 Being that the coins hit normal in the air and not in the ground it sounds to me like another problem with filters or ground balance. Maybe Whites can Jump in on this. I don't have an answer for this unless I could have the detector in...

    Depth and Accuracy...with the v3i

I would agree with Rob, make sure you VDI is normalized,...that will definatly change the VDI #s. If that isn't the problem, I would call Whites. I don't think I have ever heard of this problem before.

    Depth and Accuracy...with the v3i

Ok, so we know it's not the machine. Try running a stock program, use loctrack for ground balance settings and find a nice clean spot to balance at. As Larry and I both stated, coins will hit the best when shallow and as they get deeper, past 6 to 8 inches, the VDI #s will start to fall...

    Depth and Accuracy...with the v3i

I have had some very strange VDI #s come up before but it was always a ground balance problem. If you use a coil cover, make sure it's clean. Try an air test and see if they come in normal, if so, it's got to be in the ground setting such as balance. If they come in high like that in the...
