    Gold or a fool

    I just found an old ring today at a park that goes back to civil war times that is stamped with"solidxgold". It sure looks like gold and has the weight. Can anyone tell me anything about this? Here is a pic of the inside. There is another stamp next to the "solidxgold" that looks like an "S"...
