    I definitely would like the option to use commercial batteries. Unfortunately, XP chose to not give us that option. If the warranty is not transferable, it'll hurt resale value. No one wants to be stuck with an expensive paperweight after something goes wrong. This is minor...but a depth...

    I've never owned an Equinox. My impression is it is a detector purposely designed to have lesser capabilities and features than the E-trac and CTX 3030. However it is not a heavy machine like they are. Right now, it appears the XP Deus II may be a more capable detector. I may wait to see...

    I read somewhere Minelab no longer supports the E-trac. Is that true? If so, what exactly does it mean? The reason I ask is because I was thinking of buying a used one. However, if Minelab will no longer repair them, I could be spending hundreds on a potential paperweight, if it ever fails...
