    BBS 800 Coil Compatibility

Tip with epoxy, careful heating will break it down to where you can patiently pull it apart and remove. When I did repairs on Excaliburs and I got things in that were epoxied sealed.... the heat gun was my best friend. Recently, I got one of my AQ batteries I made several years ago back for...

    Unusual interaction while detecting today.

I have a interesting story from 2017. Had a Honey Hole spot I was getting several gold rings near Annapolis. And wish I had my Go Pro for this one. So i'm hunting away and noticed some young adults on shore partying. About hour later I did my turn around and there was a young lady standing in...

    Unusual interaction while detecting today.

Never had any the years I detected OC Md 2008 to 2014. Did have a few cute encounters with kids. One little girl 7 came up and asked what are you doing. I told her looking for coins and treasure, she walked away and came back about 5 minutes later and gave me some coins. Another a little boy the...

I get to the beach with my AQ then this happens…

Thanks TVR, so far no issues. I wonder if a plastic welder could fix the coil ears if they broke?

I get to the beach with my AQ then this happens…

You can fix that with some carbon fiber tube off amazon. .. Took out the bottom pin on the shaft leaving the top, seems to be the weak link area. Cut a 5.5 inch (14cm) piece of 25 x 23mm Carbon fiber, slid it over the weak area with about a 2mm space between the shaft and the carbon fiber...

    Metal Detector Rack

Th Thanks TVR, a little two big .. Still have the same setup, and still thinking how to work this out. I need it to be moveable for some ramps are lefts n others are on the right. And the anchor area has to be open. Would like a bigger boat but this one I can unload myself at the ramp.

    APPLE I PHONES

Funny story, when I got my new civic in 2022 I hid two airtags in my civic after removing the speakers and I did my boat and truck. 3 years late Im getting the low battery warnings from both in the civic. I remembered where did hide one but not the other. So make sure if you remove the speakers...

What is the absolute best metal detector for metal detecting in freshwater? (lakes, creeks, and rivers)

Lotta truth in that, been using a excalibur for 18 years now and a simple PI ... how much gold and silver I dig depends on my reconn-ing of my old and new spots to find those open areas in the water. And not to brag but this routine has found me way more gold and silver then any one in the...

What is the absolute best metal detector for metal detecting in freshwater? (lakes, creeks, and rivers)

Great to have those capabilities but Does anyone go that deep for micro jewelry and small nuggets? All my years only known a few divers and most dove in 8 to 15 feet for regular gold jewelry. Based on location I would say the lighting would not be that great either. Several years ago I met up...

Fisher AQ PI, Another gold for the pile!

Yes, I'll have to take a look and get you a picture. I did do that at one time but now I just save all that stuff for my buddy Steve Noga. He.s like a kid when he goes thru all..

What is the absolute best metal detector for metal detecting in freshwater? (lakes, creeks, and rivers)

One thing I always liked about the D2 was the warranty.. 5 years.. and sometime ago I seen you could buy the 10 year warranty? If I were a diver or someone who hunted in adversed conditions that would be a Big Plus. I love the Excalibur but a 1 year warranty is down right robbery. And I think...

Fisher AQ PI, Another gold for the pile!

Another gold for the pile! Out Monday for 5 hours, targets were few but was able to get a couple silvers and a old gold signet. Going to let the AQ rest the next few hunts, walking into a spot I'm not sure what the bottom holds. Excalibur is up to bat..

What is the absolute best metal detector for metal detecting in freshwater? (lakes, creeks, and rivers)

Not used the Tesoro and really don't have to ....to give you the best option. Manticore is the best. Light Years ahead of the Tiger Shark. And the Big plus is Minelabs is still in business, Tesoro went out about 10 years ago so getting a repair would be a challenge. And one thing about water...
