KEENE COIN/JEWELRY DREDGING IN MIDWEST LAKE

Here are a couple of my best finds that I sucked up with my Keene Coin Dredge in a midwest lake swimming area several years, ago. One is this heavy(13.5g) man's 14k gold ring. It is quite ornate as the picture shows. The other is a 14kt, white gold, engagement ring with a beautiful 1/2ct...

    Garrett AT Pro 5 x 8" DD coil vs 6.5 x 9" concentric

I have a new AT Pro with the standard 8.5 x 11" coil. I am contemplating buying a smaller coil for hunting house yards with considerable trash in them. Which coil would be best for this to sort out the good from trash? Would it be the newer 5 x 8" DD or 6.5 " x 9" coil? Comments please.

1933 Chicago Century of progress. What is the definition of this?

I dredged this up from an old, closed, swimming beach some years, ago. I've been trying to research it but can't figure out what to call it. I've tried charm, fob, and pendant but haven't found any info on it. Does anyone know what it would be called to identify it?

MYSTERY RING FOUND IN SWIMMING BEACH

A number of years, ago, I dredged this ring from an old, closed, swimming beach. The winged propeller almost looks like some sort of Air Force insignia but it is an adjustable ring. It appears to be made of a bronze or copper metal. Does anyone have a clue as to what it is?Huh

    MYRTLE BEACH, SC.

My Wife and I will be vacationing in Myrtle Beach in October for 10 days. I plan to take my old Garrett Seahunter XL500 Pulse detector and try my luck on the beach. Has anyone had any good finds on the beaches, there? If so, please post pics.

    N/E ILLINOIS PARK TOKEN FIND

While metal detecting in a park in Waukegan, IL., back in the 1980's, I dug up this interesting token. It says "HUPMOBILE - 25TH ANNIVERSARY" on one side and "THE CAR OF THE CAREFUL INVESTOR" on the reverse side. It was manufactured by the Hupp Motor Co. from 1909 through 1940 in Detroit...

    BEST DIIAMOND RING FOUND

Several years ago, My friend and I were in an old, closed, beach in a Midwest lake with our coin dredges and I sucked up a 14K man's Masonic ring with a 1.10ct diamond in it. I'm not a Mason so I had a new ring made from it which is in the attached picture. The jeweler who made it said it was...

    STRANGE LOOKING PADLOCK

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION AS TO WHAT TYPE OF PADLOCK THIS IS? IT IS KIND OF WEIRD LOOKING. I FOUND IT IN AN OLD, PLOWED, FIELD THAT WAS A FAIRGROUNDS UNTIL 1910. IT APPEARS THAT A FRONT SWIVEL COVER IS MISSING.

    WHAT IS THIS?

I found this "token" in the back yard of a house. I have tried to research the origin of it but haven't found anything. It appears to be a 1.00 casino token or something. Does anyone recognize it or can identify it for me? It says "CAIRO', sphinx and pyramid on one side and 1.00 on the other.

NICE DIAMOND FOUND IN MIDWEST LAKE

I was in an old, closed, beach in a midwest freshwater lake and sucked this up with my dredge back in the 80's. It is a 1.10 ct diamond in a 14K ring. The diamond was in a Masonic ring that I had melted down and molded into this ring. It was appraised at $6,000.00, then. I wear it, constantly.

    1922 "PLAIN" LINCOLN CENT

A number of years ago, I was metal detecting in an old small town park. I had found quite a few coins when a young boy rode up on his bicycle and asked how I was doing. We talked for awhile and he said " I've got some coins in a tobacco can at home. Do you want to see them?". I said OK and...

MY BEST COIN FINDS: TWO(2) 1916 D MERCURY DIMES

I feel very fortunate to have dug up two 1916 D Mercury dimes in my md'ing career. Th nicest one was found back in the 70's in the outfield of a Midwestern Illinois park ball diamond. Notice the detail on it. The poorest one was found in the front yard of an old couple's home. It was...

    UNIQUE FIND IN MIDWEST LAKE

A number of years, ago, I sucked this up with my Keene Coin dredge in a Midwest lake/beach area. It looks kind of gross but is, still, a nice piece of dental gold. I guess it's called a partial plate and has three teeth embedded in it. You never know what lying in the bottom
