Garrett AT Pro 5 x 8" DD coil vs 6.5 x 9" concentric

I have a new AT Pro with the standard 8.5 x 11" coil. I am contemplating buying a smaller coil for hunting house yards with considerable trash in them. Which coil would be best for this to sort out the good from trash? Would it be the newer 5 x 8" DD or 6.5 " x 9" coil? Comments please.

Dont have the 6.5 x 9, but do have the 5 x 8. It separates very well in trash with very good depth. I'd suspect the smaller coil has a narrower field in the ground since it is a DD type, and be better for trash.

Why do they continue to call these coils concentric. They are eliptical.

They are concentric ellipses so the name does apply.

Have you considered the sniper coil you can't get any better for target separation, I have one on my ace350 and my Atpro and it kicks @ss on trash, I did think about mounting my sunray probe using it as my coil in a few areas.:garrett:
