Yes Carl knows his stuff, for sure. I'm glad you got it fixed. Good luck with the detector and more goodies to find. 👍

Meter trouble with vintage White's 6000/di series 3

Stosh00 Forgot something. Some of the wires inside MAY have breaks in the wires that you can't see. They are covered by the plastic sheathing.

Meter trouble with vintage White's 6000/di series 3

The 6000/di ser. 3 is 30-plus years old. But you already knew that. The problem with the electronics (older detectors) is that deteriorate, such as: Hot spots, power surges, cracks on the components and even worn out switches. Resistors are notorious for this too. Solder connections become loose...

    Building my own headphones

Charles, very nicely done! With your ingenuity now you can think about cutting the cord. Using a Bluetooth system where you can purchase (hopefully) the transmitter mounted and/or removable from the detector and install the receiver inside one of the ear shells. I believe they are available for...

Who uses their wired headphones with the Equinox or Manticore detectors?

There is some delay but, I observe my swing and adjust accordingly. I'd say it is 1/2 second or greater delay... not too bad. The silicone pack idea is a good one, never thought of that. Lastly, I always carry a couple of hankies. TC-NM

Who uses their wired headphones with the Equinox or Manticore detectors?

Living here in Southern AZ it gets pretty HOT with H.P. I sweat profusely at and around my forehead. I have Sunray Pro golds and White's 9000 H.P. which to me are the most comfortable but I do get hot. Both have 1/4 phono jack but I can use the adapters to 1/8 phono jack. Presently they are semi...

How much would my Garrett GTXa 1250 be worth today if I would sell it?

Low as $130--$150 but no higher than a closet queen of $300. Condition, functionality and accessories are what makes and breaks it. Hope this helps. TC-NM

Need advice on a DD coil for MXT

Hi coinspader, I have the 10" D2 and the SEF 6 x 8 DD that I'm using on my V3i. The D2 is "V" rated. Will that pose problems with an MXT?
