If you look shallowly into the recent posts at the TD your first initial conclusion is that they are trying to get people sold on the two new Tesoros.
Which is puzzling at first because neither are Tesoro dealers and have nothing to gain from it.
Investigate deeper and you'll find their agenda. Since we've covered that they have nothing to gain from promoting the two new machines, why else would they be promoting them and downing the X5 folks and why did they pick the TD to be their battleground?? What do the TD, TR, and those two have in common?? Answer -- A hate for Troy Galloway.
The Mayor and Mag PI were contacted by Troy to build his DD coil for TCD. They had agreed on a certain price for it and a certain date for it to be done. They kept putting the ready date for the prototype off and wanting more money than what they had originally agreed upon. This went on for a few weeks time and eventually words were said between them. That's when they put the first batch of DD coils on the market but marketed them under their own name instead of TCD, which was bad because it was Troys design to start with. Troy sought legal action to put an end to it. That was the last I heard about it all. Give Troy a call and I'm sure he'll tell you more details about it. When I had my X5 I talked to him on the phone and this is how I found out about the DD coil deal. That has been over a year ago...and he warned me THEN that those guys would do something like they are doing now.
 
when I read the posts by the two people that you are speaking about I never saw them mention the X-5 or Troy. Thier comparisons were against the Tejon which I always thought was under the impression is a Tesoro design.

I don't have time to go find which post it is all under but if you have the time, go back and look and you'll see where the comments were made. I think "John FL" was the one who got them stirred up about it.
 
That is because John is an avid X-5er and takes any and every opportunity he can to cause trouble on Tesoro users Forums. I feel sorry for him. When I get to the Posts where John is starting trouble I just skip over them since I know the only reason they are there is to disrupt the flow of information and start fights. Which I why I may have missed the X-5 comparison. But I can understand where he could have caused them to mention the X-5. But most of the actual comparisons that were posted were between the Tejon and the new machines. It's funny to read TR defneding the Tejon as being deeper and other saying the new machines are deeper than the Tejon. I think it all deoends on where you live and the ground conditions there.

It must have been deleted when the others were. It didn't mention Troy but did mention X machines. What would be a good way to cost Troy sales? I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed but I figure if people buy one of the Tesoros instead of an X machine that would cost Shadow sales. In all the claims about the depth of the Tejon, Cibola and Vauqero there's not been one yet to rival the 17 and 18 inch deep little bitty buttons TR claimed to have found with the Shadow X2 when it first came out. Geez! Will you guys never learn?
 
When I start reading posts where it gets to be more about fighting and less about detecting or detectors I usually just go to the next series of posts so I sometimes miss out on some of the comments. Just as well because I don't want to get pulled into the which brand is better war <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

lot of great machines out there that are made by
different companys. While machines certainly make
a difference, the person swinging it, determines
what comes out of the ground. HH Richardntn
 
Lots of X5 users here in Wisconsin and none of us who have learned how to use them would give up our X5's. The X5 is not my only land detector but it would be the only one if I could only afford one unit.
 
I have the Tejon, Vaquero and Cibola. I bought the Cibola for the wife because it is easy to operate. Air testing the machines proved that the Cibola was every bit as deep as the Tejon and maybe just a little deeper. I have been using the Vaquero and it has pulled several buttons from sites that have been pounded to death. I have yet to "Super Tune" the Vaquero but it seems to work good on the Cibola. Bottom line is that both of the new machines seem to be equal too or slightly better then the Tejon. Fact is that I have been using the Vaquero over all my other machines which include a Nautilus DMCIIBa, Whites MXT and Tesoro Golden, Euro Sabre,Tejon and Conquistador. The Vaquero runs super quiet, discriminates better then anything listed above and goes deep. I don't have anything to gain by promoting it and will buy the best thing that suites my needs. This machine that is cheaper then several of mine just does a good job and I will keep using it until the next best thing comes out that beats it. <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">
 
Maybe I should feel sorry for those who are affraid to stand up for the truth.
I'll leave it at that.

It seems that certain folks start personal attacks whenever they run out of facts or have some type of agenda. I like to discuss detectors, not personalities.

It's not as forgiving as some Tesoro models I've used.
 
That's the first thing I go over with someone who is having trouble. With the 10 turn GB pot it's easy to GB once you know how to do it correctly. I have one of the first batch of X5's and it drove me nuts the first two times I took it out. Then I figured it out and it's been great for me since. I had the mod done that was available for the first 300 produced and that also calmed my unit down. The X5 is a very stable calm high performance unit when you know how to set it up.
 
Like you I have several detectors but the one I pick up almost every is the X5. And like you if I only had one it would be the X5!

All I know for sure is that it's always the same few people starting all the arguments over there and since these same people are over on the Shadow Forum singing it's praises I can only come to one conclusion and that is that they are intentionally trying to start fights and keep any info about the new Tesoro machines from getting out by making it so miserable over there that people will stop reading that Forum. I still want to find out about these new machines so now when I see posts by those people I just skip over them since I know they are only there to cause a ruckus. The two sides have such tunnel vision regarding thier machines it's almost as bad as the Presidential Election and it had a lot of rock throwing <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> Hopefully one of the other manufacturers will come out with a machine whose performance so greatly surpasses the machines from both camps that it won't be able to be denied and in so doing will take away the reason the two have for fighting with one another!!!!
