D2- Outgrew My Shovel

Coin Rescue Inc

Well-known member
We had some nice warmish breaks thawing the soil early this winter so I got out last Sunday.
I am finally realizing the depth of the D2 has made my standard shovel I used for years obsolete.
I am going to need a Spade with a 12" Blade to get to the targets...

Like most I step on my shovel to press into the earth a maximum of 8".
When the top is flush with the ground level, that's all she wrote.

It has obviously been warmer this winter in places it is t normally this warm! And it is a nice problem to have!😃 This WINTER here in southern Wisconsin I’ve done better “old coin wise” than all of last spring, summer and fall! If I can dig a hole and the ground isn’t locked solid…I go hunting. And yes, the D2 in a lower reactivity setting has excellent depth on small coins!
