1920’s permission yields a few cool finds.

My neighbor is on the board of a one block sanctuary across the street from me. I finally got around to asking if I could gently hunt on it. Below is 2 1920’s wheats,
1 Zippo lighter “Clover leaf Dairy Products “ Selma, Ala.
3 metal buttons. My favorite is the large copper coat button with the shank missing. If you look closely at the 2nd button it has “TEXAN” stamped on it. It is super light, so I’m sure it’s aluminum (Probably pre-World War II with rationing?) The last one is just a simple metal button probably for a shirt. Lastly, the scrap of metal with a mask I have no idea what that came from. if anyone has any ideas on the history of the buttons or the scrap metal with the mask on it sound off.

Interesting finds. You can actually send that lighter in to Zippo’s repair department and they will refurbish it for you.

Capt, that big button is cool, I like old buttons. The “Texan” one reminds me of older undergarment buttons. Thanks for sharing your finds.
 
y’all didn’t tell me I posted the same wheat penny twice. Here is the 1926 wheat.

I’m going back over there today. I’m still trying to find some silver.
