Newer Metal Detectors

I don't like doing it either but that seems to be the trend these days , just like sealed components , lithium batteries , carbon fiber and multi-frequency. Technology marches forward whether good or more complicated. I just started using a smart phone a couple of months ago and we are all going to be dragged into the 21st century one way or the other. I can accept updates they if they actually improve performance and don't just muck things up with more frills.

If the update makes it worse, most manufacturers allow you to roll it back to the previous version. Last update to Deus 2 and the Apex made them both perform much better than before.

What does an update on a detector actually do? On computers updates are often for security reasons.

I wish the newer detectors didn't look like my cell phone.

Are there any newer metal detectors that won't require updates? I don't want to have to update one by computer.
You do not have to update them like a phone you can use it as it came guy I know has his D2 on the first
original version hes happy

Agreed again, the software the newer machines come with is already very good, a person could just buy it and use it and be quite happy across the board.
