Received my "new" DFX, like listening to an old friend

So my DFX died about 3 years ago. I'd bought it used in 2008, found plenty of booty with it and a Bigfoot coil. I've been poking around with my daughters AT-Pro since, but never fell in love.

Last week I bought a "new" used DFX, it's in better shape than my first one was when I got it. Most importantly, all my old tones are back! If you use a DFX and learn the tones for a decade, hearing them again is like listening to an old friend.

I've only been out to hunt on our property so far, but pretty happy with this handmade mattock:

I was afraid to pour money into an older detector, but it's hard to beat DFX + Bigfoot.

I bought my DFX new way back in I think 1992? and then sometime later picked up a Big Foot coil. Loved that Big Foot, but it finally died. I keep looking for a replacement but have not found one. That coil makes finding things so easy.

Oh, the BIGFOOT........... coin magnets we called them. We covered schoolyards in a fraction of time that a standard coil took us with our pockets full :) When we started slowing down due to health and age, we sold them for a handsome profit, $350 each if I remember right and that has been quite a few years ago, 10 or more. The mighty DFX and Bigfoot combo............ unbeatable especially in seeded hunts, often finding several coins in a single sweep and tone ID telling you what coins were in each hole. Oh, the memories.

If I could find a Big Foot again i would buy it, sure wish some other company would start them up again. Your right, you could really cover the ground and know you didn't miss much.
