The day after I found the SLQ and Mercs I went back to the same spot to see what I missed. After 7 hours I didn't hit any shiny but did manage a Buff, a Jeff 4 wheats, 3 in pretty decent shape, 2 tokens and a pretty cool pin or a lid to something. Also dug a key, now usually I just throw them in a cup but this one has the owners name on it so it must have been a special key to something.
I returned to the same area today, on my way in I hit a wheat and clad dime. Good thing, in the target area after 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. I couldn't find a good signal. Decided to move to another area that I hit lightly a few years ago. The reason for that is I knew it had been heavily hunted by others. Within a half hour I got a 77 and quickly followed by an 89 and a 92.. The 77 sounded coiny but the rest had high melodious, fluted type of tone. Dug down about 7 in. and out comes a small dark coin. Up till now I thought the wheat and clad dime was going to be the take for the day. By the way I lost my coin bag and had to go back and find it. Anyway it was black and thin but I was sure it was silver, a spit revealed "One Dime" and the day just got a whole lot better. It had been hiding by couple can tops and from my angle of approach I hit the dime signal first. At first I thought a coin spill with the other high tones but it was just one well masked Barber. Not long after with decent tone and proper Id numbers I bagged a crusty wheat. Fair to say the Manticore Ids are pretty accurate but my next signal was a loud 98-99, up against a downed tree, which I normally shy away from. Out comes Miss Mercury. I used the carrot then rescanned, nothing else on the hole or near by. Have to keep that in mind. My last silver was a 91-92 up against a tree, was happy to see silver for the third time within 2 hours, another high tone by the tree turned out to be wheat # 3 on the day. Swinging for the truck and hoping for a silver Rosie for a trifecta my last signal was a 81-82, No cigar, a 66 Rosie. This machine continues to impress me. Thanks for looking in.
