Thank you, guess I finally got a legit eagle button! I always find eagle buttons without the back and that makes me think Blazer buttonO.PT., Congrat's on the Save of the general service Eagle button. It's in great shape too. Always nice to find them in as nice shape as the one you found. Gotta Love those CW buttons. We'll Done on the other finds as well. Continued Success to you.
I went back to the same place the button was found yesterday and a guy I hunt with found a 3 ringer not far from where I found the buttonGreat button!

That would be my luck. but I've found a half dime in this area a 57 seated dime 1860s Indian heads, but it would still be my luckI could be completely in the wrong here but I believe that button dates much later than the civil war based off the back mark. The Waterbury Button Company changed its name to Waterbury Companies Inc. in 1943 I do believe.
I hate to be “that guy” but this is a more modern re-enactor’s button, post 1965.
I appreciate it. I don't want to calm something I find is legit when it's not, so back on the bucket list. But that's the two piece button thing I've been going throughI’m not trying to rain on your find I promise. I would encourage you to look up the backmark on your button and see what you come up with.
Gather more opinions to be sure sir but that’s my worthless evaluation anyway lolI appreciate it. I don't want to calm something I find is legit when it's not, so back on the bucket list. But that's the two piece button thing I've been going through
