xp deus 2 water hunting

Just as good in the water as it is on land when the antenna is installed and you use some good waterproof headphones, I tried the Bone Conductors and just dont like them that well. Guess it may be because I am used to wearing full cover headphones when I detect the beach to help keep the kiddy noise out.

I have not used mine underwater I dont like the antenna setup.

Mark. get the new shorter Deus antenna cable and run it up the inside of the lower/upper stem. Drill a small hole in the upper stem remote mount and thread the coax cable thru the hole and up to the top of the remote.. Just leave the antenna attached all of the time. Only thing you have to do to convert to that water is hook up some waterproof wired headphones. I don't recommend the Deus Bone Conductor phones (only as a last resort) as they are uncomfortable and hard to get adjusted as they move about to easily. There are videos of the setup on the tube.

what type of wired headphones would you recommend ?

Tony Eisenhower waterproof headphones for the Deus 2 are the best.

This!!!
Absolutely love his phones
I'll second AirForceMike & ColonelDan. Tony recently built me a custom set of his Diver's waterproof headphones with enhanced impedance matching circuitry for my Dual Field PI. He's a great guy, build's uber quality, extremely comfortable phones and ships quickly.

He doesn't have a website, only works via email, so you can reach him at: tony@idigbeaches.com.

Has anyone ever taken the xp deus 2 out water hunting with it yet ? If so I would like to hear about it. Thanks
I used 1 for about a year with Tony's headphones. Also tried the Equinox for a good while. Both machines worked fine but in the water I just wasn't getting the depth . Went back to an Excal and an original Fisher Impulse and couldn't be more pleased. I like both the D2 and Equinox on the beach but not in the water. I'm so happy with the Excal I bought a 2nd one. I wish I had never sold my 1st Excal, they are excellent machines in the water.

i went the dark side 3 years ago......works fine in the salt water even with control head under water, far more waterproof than the smaller model minelabs......over the years i had 6 that leaked and replaced for free by minelab, now the ctx is a beast and they seldom ever leak.

i started out with the factory wireless phones, but found the wave noise and screaming tourist too much for those, so i bought some Black Windows from detectorpro and that fixed that, i still use the wireless for hunting the bay and i for 1 love the bone connector phones.

the coil antenna wire is not my favorite feature for this fine heater, but what can we do, but live with it......it is what it is.

recently i purchased two of the mounting: covers/rod mounts/rc mounts made by RC Diggs, mine are for left hand swinger - the best money i ever spent.

that is it
