looks like melted glass bottle ???

I thought of melted glass too until I looked up the temperature glass melts at. It takes temps of at least 2500 degrees F to melt glass. A fire won't melt glass. I'm curious if it isn't plastic. Can a knife scratch it?

I have had some hot fires in my fire pit and have melted bottles as well. Also , have you ever found an old campfire circle that had broken melted glass in it ? Do the experiment , it has to be a good fire with lots of hot coals and some burning wood helps. I have also melted pennies in the scoop of a shovel . 🤒

Look closely for any air bubbles inside of it. If you see any, it’s glass. If you don’t see any, it’s still likely glass, but there would be a couple other possibilities depending on where it is from.
Do you see any fractures inside of it and have any chips been knocked off of the surface? If so, is the chipped surface wavy?

I stand humbly corrected. :) Wow, melting a penny too. Glad I only have to melt my lead to about 700F for making my bullets.
