Funny how the first generation Simplex is more money

Have you had a chance to use the new Ultra yet. For some reason, I am thinking you are from the northeast. If so, I am seeing rains of the century up there. Hopefully everyone is safe.

    Thinking About Down Sizing

It sure is hard to find a better detector than the Etrac that will accurately hit coins 8 plus inches. The thing that makes the Etrac "head and shoulders" above the new detectors is the ease at how it hits on these deep coins. I just wish it was not so darn heavy. I just had my Etrac repaired...

    Thinking About Down Sizing

I have been taking the Etrac to my favorite park and have been coming home "skunked". This place has been my all time favorite detecting spot, producing hundreds of silver and into the thousands of wheat pennies. I always can find at least a wheat or two, but the last three hunts were terrible...

Any date on when the Simplex Ultra will be released in the USA???

I agree, I am not too interested in videos from overseas. I am sure there will be some of US based youtubers making some videos as soon as they can get an Ultra in their hands. I am strictly a public spot hunter and any detector I use will have to be accurate and deep on modern trash. I do not...

Any date on when the Simplex Ultra will be released in the USA???

Tony, I believe they have started shipping to the US market, but not in large batches. Go to youtube and there are a couple of videos that you are looking for. It sure does look like the Simplex Ultra is a "hot" detector.

    Simplex Ultra Headphone Adapter

Went to Notka's website and the adapters are a shared part. I just wish that they were longer so I could zip tie it to the arm rest like I did with the Equinox.

Quote I made up (I think)

When I started detecting many years ago, I either heard or made up a saying about detecting. This saying is the most accurate description of metal detecting I have ever heard. I tell anyone who comes up to me to BS with me while I am detecting. I call our hobby, "an easter egg hunt for grown...

    Simplex Ultra Headphone Adapter

Is the Simplex plus and the new Simplex series headphone adapter the same adapther used on the Legend? It appears to be identical. I am considering the new Ultra and want to use the Legend adapter on the Simplex as a backup to the wireless phones. Thanks

    Fisher CZ's still the King

Ken, I had just about every CZ made and the CZ70 was the only one that I could run above 5 on the sensitivity. Try 4 with a slow sweep speed.

    Test Garden

Rob, for years I have told every new detectorist to plant a test garden. You can learn more in a half an hour than 50 hours in the field with a new detector. Air test are fine for the very basic's like learning the tones, but nothing will every beat what various targets sound like in the ground...

If Fisher would make a modern High end coin / relic detector???? Would you buy and what options would it need to have ??

Built in rechargeable battery. Light weight dd coils. Wireless phones. I don't need it to be an under water rated detector. Last but not least, CZ depth. I had some of my best silver years with various CZ's and to think we were getting extreme depth with an eight inch coil. I found the big coil...

Does Nokta Makro not honor their warranty?

Bill, if Notka wants to compete with Minelab, they better have a transferrable warranty.

Does Nokta Makro not honor their warranty?

Bill, I too was under the impression that the warranty was transferrable. I would not have bought used if I had known. I looked at the warranty policy on Notka"s website and see no mention of being transferrable. At least with Fisher we knew the policy. Hopefully someone from Notka will speak up.

    Simplex wish list

Have you watched any of the youtube videos from England? I am thinking of the Ultra, but want to wait to see how they deal with modern trash. From the limited videos, I am not liking the audio. Notka surely is capable of improving the tones.

    Great Morning With the Trac

Mark, I am always trying the latest and greatest, but always come back to a FBS detector. I will use the Etrac as long as my shoulder and elbow hold up. I have tried the harnesses, but absolutely hate them. Your Nox 600 is one of the best coin detectors around, so you should not miss much.

First Impressions with the Xterra Pro

Tim, a question about the 8 inch deep Buffalo nickel. Does the Pro ID it correctly with tones and numbers. I don't know what the correct number would be on the new Minelab scale. I have had many single frequency detectors hit nickels, but not have the correct number or tone. These nickels were...

    Great Morning With the Trac

It is a "vdb", but no S mint mark. I guess I will have to keep trying. At any rate, it is in good condition for the wheats that come out of my soil.

    Whites quantum 2 anyone??

Tim and Mark, I sort of messed this thread up. I should have said I had the Quantum XT with 9.5 inch coil. There was a fellow back then that had a "Quantum Bible". He had loads of hints and tips on how to get the most out of the Quantum. I believe his name was Hill, but that too might be wrong...

    Whites quantum 2 anyone??

I had one around 2000 and really liked it. I preferred it over the XLT. Most people swept it too fast. When you figured out the sweep speed is was the deepest Whites unit in the late 90's.
