(Want to sell) Fisher F5 5-inch coil, brand-new

I have a brand-new 5-inch coil for the Fisher F5. It came directly from the manufacturer earlier this year and has never been in the field, so it's completely mint. Asking $70 shipped within the US. Payment by Venmo or Paypal F&F.

2 short hunts, yesterday and today

Wow, that's a low reactivity! I gotta try that more. 12+ inches on a bullet is rad. I've used Gold Field with good depth but encouraging to know that other programs with more nuanced tone options are good at lower reactivity.

    Alternative grips for F75?

I love it. And no worries about getting it wet when you need to clean it. Also, I really love the pistol grip idea, but you're right, it's not very stable. I recently picked up an F70, which has the control box mounted directly to the shaft. You lose the trigger pinpoint/GB but gain a solid...

    Alternative grips for F75?

Thanks, I've come across a few who have used this. Might get some and try it out.

Nice. How deep were they? And which program did you use?

    Alternative grip for T2?

I have a T2 as well as a (pre-DST) F75. They're both great machines in many respects. One thing I don't like are the foam grips that both machines use. They get dirty really easily in the field and hard impossible to clean thoroughly. Does anyone use a cover/alternative grip on their...

    Maybe something new coming...

An SMF F75 with trigger pinpoint/GB on a carbon fiber shaft would be the start of a good new machine. I just picked up an F70 and like that you can save a couple of "programs" worth of settings, so that could make a nice feature on a new machine.

    Maybe something new coming...

I heard a similar rumor from a dealer last fall. I'm hoping for an updated, SMF T2 or F75. Garrett and First Texas are the last two US-based detector manufacturers. It'd be great if at least one of them could come out with something new and interesting.

Question on getting the basic deus II without remote to start with

FWIW, I have the complete setup with the remote, and I'll often stash the remote in my pocket/finds pouch and just listen to the audio anyway. Often, I find I actually dig more that way by taking chances on targets that sound good but are a little jumpy on the numbers. It is somewhat harder to...

Can Garrett Detectors even COMPETE with the Latest & Greatest?????

Wait, you mean the internet isn't real life? ;-) I agree, it was sad to watch Tesoro and White's close up shop. That's exactly why I hope whatever Garrett's next machine is really breaks new ground and turns some heads. It seems like the pieces are there, especially with some White's tech at...

Can Garrett Detectors even COMPETE with the Latest & Greatest?????

Hey John, I've been reading (and loving) your posts for years on here. But I have to ask: Who really is paying $1k+ for a GTI 2500 these days? Admittedly, I've never used a 2500, but I have used a GTI 1500. Compared to other machines out there today, it had a slow recovery speed and was weighed...

Can Garrett Detectors even COMPETE with the Latest & Greatest?????

Also, it's not a product issue, but does anybody else remember last year around this time when the "Find of the Month" winner was a guy who claimed to have found a "seated liberty $5 gold piece" that he probably ordered on Alibaba? Garrett got dragged in the comments for that on Facebook and...

Can Garrett Detectors even COMPETE with the Latest & Greatest?????

To me, it says a lot that Garrett still lists the GTI 2500 on its lineup of hobby detectors: https://garrett.com/sport/imaging-detectors/gti-2500 I used an AT Pro for years and loved it. Now, I use a Deus II. It definitely costs a lot more than a Pro, but even if you're on a limited budget, an...

Xy screen when targets too deep?

I mainly use the horseshoe and focus on the audio. I mostly use the XY screen when there's lots of trash, such as irregularly shaped iron or lead, as it helps me pick out coins or other solid targets. Like the target ID numbers, it seems like the accuracy of the XY screen diminishes with...

Will AI lead to a Deus 3?

I'm not an expert on AI, but I struggle to imagine how it could be used to improve a detector's ID capabilities. AI has to be trained on existing data. It's only as good as what you put into it. What constitutes a desirable target ID and sound varies from place to place. Here in the US, for...

Anybody use the T2 exclusively in all metal mode?

Me neither! I just have the T2 Classic but am now curious about the SE.

Anybody use the T2 exclusively in all metal mode?

Yup, I've read that post. Very intriguing. Fortunately the ground isn't too bad where I am, but next time I'm in Central VA I'll have to take the T2 along. One question I was left with after reading that post: Why is the T2 able to function so well in an environment like that? What about the...
