    Summary of 2023 Finds

Dave, congratulations on a terrific year! You were very smart to use your old settings on a new machine. What a terrific idea. I have my old settings from my Exp II and will attempt to use those on my D2. Tony NJ

MINELAB Manticore Unmasking And Recovery Performance

Sube, I agree with you because of experience in owning many coils. The 10 x 12 SEF, hits hard on silver quarters and multiple coins stuck together. There are other examples but Im not feeling the best and don’t want to list others. One thing to bring up would be the programming that the user...

Above one of the forums there was a sticky where a few folks posted Explorer stuff. It was very helpful.

Need help getting a deep coin program on explorer 2

I remember the Andy Sabich book for Explorers and Etrac had several great programs. I can’t say that any of my programs were specifically for depth. I haven’t used mine in several years, sorry

What detector does this NEL Hunter coil fit

Did you contact the seller of the package deal? They might know which detector goes with the NEL.

Can anyone ID this? Old farmers cant….

If that farm had a forge, it could be man made on site. You can try emailing an equestrian web site. They might be able to identify if it was for horse and wagon stuff

    Do You Ground Balance

Very possible, it isn’t easy picking a spot to GB in trashy parks.

    Do You Ground Balance

I stopped worrying about GB on the Deus 2. One day detecting I was doing well, good signals and good accuracy plus depth. For whatever reason, I GB and the machine wasn’t good as before. I shut it down and back on, then the machine was good to go. So now I only do it if I start getting strange...

    D2 can slaw question

CT Todd, that’s something most of us don’t test for because we don’t own any of those coins. I’ll have to test using two silvers halves and see where that responds on the D2. Wouldn’t hurt to test a few silvers together also. I am hoping it will ring up 98 or 99 and give a good tone so I’ll...

Funny quotes or sayings from movies.

Soapy Sales line, I go to the ball game with my wife and I kiss her between the strikes! And she kisses me between ba*ls! Then the TV screen went into a test pattern that they used after hours when programming stop broadcasting.

Funny quotes or sayings from movies.

Rodney Dangerfield in ‘Easy Money’. At the end of the movie he says, ‘before today I couldn’t kiss my mother in law on the face, now today - I kiss her ass’!

    Unknown piece?

Yeah, I see what you mean. It slides down and over a trunk latch than you can put a lock on it

    Update problem

I saw you had a problem the other day. I have the back phones but it all should be the same process when updating. turn on your machine with the shaft in a collapsed position with the headphones on your head. Machine should connect the coil first then headphones. If it don’t work than you should...

Manticore and Deus 2 unmasking with elliptical coil.

Depends on loop size but I agree, there are variables when detecting. When in doubt, investigate further. I have dug holes near the target area and the detector response will change. Thereby helping in pinpointing the target I was attempting to retrieve.

Manticore and Deus 2 unmasking with elliptical coil.

Interesting. That could be a reason why I have never found a coin in between two nails like shown in the video. Usually when I find coins in the same hole with nails or other trash items they are at different depths.
