Which NEL Coil works the best

Don’t discount Garrett’s wide selection of reasonably priced Factory coils. No comparable aftermarket coil is any better.

I can tell a site that was hit early in detecting times probably 35-40 years ago

I have the same strong suspicions when I hunt most any public site. Only Silver left is masked or quite deep, same with Copper Small Cents. On the few virgin permissions I have been fortunate to get, Silver coins were easy targets.

    Gas valves

Very nice. A sad rebuke to our mundane modern world. Even ordinary items used to convey beauty.

    Does anyone know

    I miss his videos also.

1st Real Hunt with the Vista X 8" Concentric

The 8" Concentric is round. I base coil choice upon Ground conditions/trash density and search depth. They all Separate/Unmask very well. You really can't go wrong with any of the coils you mentioned. The Super Six is the best at Separation, the 8" Concentric is best in dealing with Iron...

White's Spectra V3i cherry picking gold rings.

Relic mode is what I use 90% of the time. It is very telling.

White's Spectra V3i cherry picking gold rings.

@Larry (IL) Would you please give some added details of using the MXT for hunting like this? Coin/Alternate coin mode? Relic mode? Audio tells?

Found these at my 1930s house. Anyone know what some of these things are? (Specifically the ring looking things)

If you are referring to the 2 items at upper left, they look like hog ring clamps.

Confederate & Union Civil War Relics With Seated & Barber Silver Sprinkled In

Very very nice. I hope you are able to hunt that site some more. It is a shame “progress “ has obliterated so much of the past.

whats the big object in this Picture. Hint...Giddy Up!

Proper name is a reigns terret. It is surprising that they are a fairly common find, unbroken too. How do you lose something like that?

Those are all very nice. Thanks for posting.

    Cleaning Buffalo nickels

I always clean Nickels & copper coins dry after the coin surface has had a chance to harden. Wet cleaning can slough off the details.

Help with Id on this bullet

Black powder rifle. Dimensions would help on the ID.

    Big button ID ?

That's as nice a Tombac button as anyone would ever find, but the others are the ones I like the best, especially the script I.

    Legend frequencies

It pays dividends in knowledge to experiment. While your test is not the same as real in ground performance it is a good one. The higher TIDs from one direction may be because of the DD coil. The RX approaching first. For my iron ore red dirt ground, Field M1 has performed best with Recovery...

    legand tone

Your perception is correct. The Legend’s audio is much more pleasant but still very intelligent. My Anfibio’s audio language is harsher, but has more nuance and you have to listen more closely.

A little help from the antique ammo guys….

There were loadings for Short, Long and Extra Long. Looking at my reference from cartridge-corner.com; .32 Long Rimfire has a case length of .797” and a rim diameter of .378”. I have several that I have dug.
