Shallow water hunt with the Equinox 800

Editing my post above… I looked for a link for GorillaWeld 2-Part Adhesive so I could include it. Couldn't find one even on Gorilla's site 😥 It appears they've changed the name to Steel Bond as in Pest's link. I'll be having crow for supper! Specs are exactly the same so the Steel Bond version...

Shallow water hunt with the Equinox 800

The Gorilla product I used is “Heavy Duty GorillaWeld 2-Part Adhesive”, not “Steel Bond Epoxy” if that helps. The 2-Part Adhesive is good for ABS plastic which is what the coil and the plastic for reinforcing both are. I don't know how well the Steel Bond will work. JB Weld also make a product...

Shallow water hunt with the Equinox 800

Under warranty - go for it! I haven't heard of or seen any postings of Equinox 600/800 broken coil ears or leaking control pods in a year or more. I did reinforce my coil ears: a year or two ago and the ears are rock solid. I've owned my 800 since Feb. 2018 and had it completely submerged in...

    Nox 800 headphone not working.

Blinking blue and red indicates the headphones are in pairing mode. Has nothing to do with charging. Read page 56 of the Equinox manual (download online if you don't have it) and run through the pairing instructions.

Xterra pro = short coin hunt

My wife's XTP hits silver dimes at 82 VDI and clad dimes at 80 if that helps. Copper pennies also hit at 80 just to make life interesting 😎

    Carry bag for XxTerra Pro?

Found the perfect bag: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J1MTYX7?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details XTP fits perfectly when the shaft is turned 90 degrees and slightly shortened. Decent padding. $37. 😃 This bag will also fit the Nox 600 & 800.

    X-TERRA PRO WIRELESS HEADPHONES

I ordered this travel carry bag for my wife's XTP: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J1MTYX7?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details It's supposed to fit a Nox 600/800 so the XTP should fit with the shaft slightly shortened and the coil rotated 90 degrees and attached. Pretty decent ratings. $25...

    Xterra Pro earbuds.

Do a search on Amazon for “bluetooth aptx ll earbuds”. I came up with this for example...

    Xterra Pro earbuds.

I do not see “APTX LL” in the manufacturer's specs to indicate these ear buds are truly low latency. There is a response saying they are “low latency for watching TV”. Not the same in my opinion. Unless I saw “APTX LL” in the manufacturer's specs I would not purchase these for metal detecting...

    Xterra Pro earbuds.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08XBQDZR6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I fastened the transmitter to the top surface of the shaft clamp that is in front of the control pod using heavy duty velcro. Again, you definitely want to keep the transmitter away from the control pod or the...

    Xterra Pro earbuds.

Have you considered “on-the-ear” bluetooth headphones. They allow you to hear surrounding sounds while still being wireless because they don't cover your ears as opposed to “over-the-ear” headphones which do cover up your ears. I bought the 1Mii bluetooth transmitter and the Creative JAM V2...

    Carry bag for XxTerra Pro?

Very well organized! Reminds me of the saying “he who has the most toys when you die wins!” You've got a great head start, pest. I hope you've got a lot of years left to add to your toy total.😎

    Carry bag for XxTerra Pro?

Has anyone found a carry bag / padded case for the XTP? Looking for something short for carrying the XTP when it's collapsed down.

    X-Terra Pro

Get a small tube of the blue Locktite and put some on the threads. The blue Locktite will let you unscrew it. Don't use the red Locktite - that's for permanent locking it down.

    My wireless headphone setup

Looks real nice. Do you have to remove the transmitter to get to the TX/OFF switch?

Ear buds or headphones for the Nox 800

During very hot weather the 800's wireless headphones turn your ear into a sauna. I use wired ear buds connected to the 800's WM08 wireless module. Allows wearing a wide brim hat for shade. I bought a pair of Sound blaster JAM V2 wireless bluetooth on-the-ear headphones for my wife's X-Terra...

    xterra pro headphones

I've heard the Minelab waterproof headphones have weak audio. No first hand experience. Grey Ghost makes a pair of waterproof headphones. Thresher makes a pair of waterproof headphones - $159.00. I'm using L.S. Pelso waterproof headphones, but I haven't seen anyone selling them anymore. If my...

Couple of questions for you Nox users

Both the headphones and the transmitter are Bluetooth 5.0 for one and I think 5.2 for the other. They're both Bluetooth APTX LL (low latency). I don't detect any latency and am happy with the setup. It will be better when I get a longer cable to run from the transmitter to the control pod so I...
