    New Detector Performance ...

I have an old Bounty Hunter Big Bud Pro and I swear it will knock the socks off anything Bounty Hunter is making today. It detects deeper, is more stable, and dead accurate in the ID. It is even built better! What gives with that? Why have they chosen to go backwards on quality and performance...

    X-12 coil verses 10x12 SEF ...

From a field test I read a few days ago the Sun Ray X-12 coil outperformed the 10x12 SEF. Anyone used them both and have an opinion? Willee

    one item test garden ...

Date: Wednesday, 12 May 2010, at 7:51 p.m. Years ago I buried a pull tab (square type) 9" deep in my back yard. Ever since I have been looking for a detector that can solidly hit that thing. I dont know if it is the soil here (clay mud) or what but most detectors wont report it...

Quattro package deal ... $565 shipped.

Selling my Minelab Quattro with two extra coils. (1 alkaline battery pack) As you can see from the photos this is a nice unit and well taken care of. The two extra coils are the Excelerator E 6" and the WOT with an extra lower rod. Andy's book in the photo is not available but the Quattro manual...

How would you compare ... F75 to CZ3D or Coin$trike?

How does the F-75 compare in performance to the older CZ series of Fisher detectors? Seems every month or so a new paint job is put on the F-75 and sold as the latest edition. But ... does it have any real advantages over the older Fishers? See a lot of them for sale used ... but then again I...

    White's BeachHunter ID ...

I have had two BHID's in the past few years and they were fairly decent beach machines. I scraped the stock coil (they float) and installed a 10" Excellerator from KellyCo and IMHO it was a big improvement. Now White's sell them with that big yellow "300" coil that is near neutral in the water...

Back to what we are here for...RECENT V3 FINDS!

Nice finds and enjoyed seeing them ... but really ... did you need to scold everyone for posting information about the V3 and discussing how they use it? I really enjoy hearing about how others are using their V3 and how they are setting them up for different situations. Anyone wanting to shut...

    I swear its true ...

I went metal detecting this morning out in the water. After a while I saw a cottonmouth with a frog in his mouth swimming by me. Frogs are good bass bait and as I also like to fish I wanted that frog. Knowing the snake couldn't bite me with the frog in his mouth I grabbed him right behind the...

    Just kinda disappointed

The V3 has features that make it worth its high price. However, the detector that can tell a gold ring from a pull tab or a nickle just dont exist. I doubt that it never will unless it is some kind of x-ray machine that lets you see the shape of the object in the ground in 3D. Metals in the...

    Has Minela outsourced ??

A friend was telling me that Minelab outsourced its Excalibur II production to a small company in China to cover demand while it moved its manufacturing plant to its new location. He said the Chinese made units could be identified by a red star behind the serial number. Anyone else heard...

PLease IM me about weather or not the V3 is worth it

An interesting question that will be debated for as long as there are two treasure hunters left on this world. Both are top of the line detectors and both have strengths and weaknesses. It would make sense to a serious treasure hunter to have both machines at his disposal. The the real cost of...

    Excal II label peeling ...

What is up with the Excalibur II label? It is peeling up on both my detectors and the battery pod. I can imagine that in another year or so it will really look bad. Any fix for this?
