How does the quattro compare with the cz70? When it comes to depth (in both good and bad ground), discrimination,& responce time .

    Tejon or Quattro

Is the tejon as good in trash as the Vaquero? Lately I've dug been digging coins in a place where someone used to burn garbage. It's littered with rusty tin cans. How much deeper is the Tejon? More depth would be nice but I dont want to have to give up my trash pile.

    Don't make this mistake

Every once in a while I remove the coil cover and clean under it. I got the bright idea to spray the coil with armor all to keep dirt from sticking to it. It also keeps the coil cover from sticking to it. After alot of scrubbing I finally got it to stay on.

    Volume control

I was wanting to add volume control to a set of headphones. Any ideas on what value the pot needs to be?

    Minelab 8 inch coil

It's hard to take it off once you put it on. Since I got it I've found 8 silver dimes and a ton of wheats in one of those "cleaned out" areas. One thing that works well for me is to run in all metal. When I find an iffy signal next to junk, I switch to coin-jewelery mode and check it. Most of...

    Looking for detector!

I would like to buy another machine just to hunt trashy sites.I would like something with decent depth. Doesn't have to be the latest and greatest. I was thinking about a silver u-max . Any suggestions?

    Try this

I placed a rusty roofing task on a 3 tall inch piece of concrete with a silver dime on the ground about 4 inches away. With the sensitivity set at 14, the dime couldn't be picked up no matter what speed the coil was swung.Higher sensitivity did not help. Trash density setting and discrimination...

    Recovery time?

I see a lot of post about slow recovery time and the Quattro.I hunt all metal most of the time but one thing I noticed is, my detector will still pick up a coin whlie the threshold is null after rejecting a target. Is this normal? If so, why is there concern about recovery time?

    Best Headphones?

I'm looking to buy a new set of headphones for the Quattro. Does anyone have any recommendations?

    Rechargeables

Does the battery pack from minelab come with 1.5v rechargeables or 1.2v? I bought a set of 1.2v 2650 mha batteries. At full charge, they will only show 2 bars on the detector and I'm only getting about 1 hour run time.

    What datum?

What datum needs to be entered when calibrating older (pre 1900) scanned maps in fugawi? The maps don't specify a datum.

    Thanks for the Help

I would like to thank everybody that post on this forum and has taken time to respond to my post. I'm starting to find a few good coins in some"hunted out" spots.Without your help this learning curve would take a lot longer.I haven't found any super deep stuff, mostly about 7-8 inches but I know...

    Night light idea

The light is hooked to a momentary push button. The is good at night since the Quattro does not have a back light. Also it doesn't stay on all the time which makes batteries last longer.

    Quattro depth?

I've read about 10 inch coins with the Quattro.I'm starting to wonder If I've got a bad egg.I'm averaging about 3-4inches running in manual with the sensitivity set at 17. I buried 2 silver dimes one at 6 inches and the other at 8 inches. Then wet the hole to help the dirt settle. I could barely...

    These numbers don't add up

I've been find a lot of coins but not much deep coins and silver. I'm digging mostly 32 plus numbers. Twice I have dug some deep rusted iron that read rock solid numbers one was 37 and the other was 17 (which I thought was a nickel). These items read the same at the surface until they dried.Then...

    Deep targets and threshold

I've read that a lot of deep coins will only give a null in the threshold when you first pass over them. This gives the signal to take a closer look. Will this happen when running in all metal? Or do you need some disc for this to work?
