    Hunt with 10.00 Conquistador today

Thanks! I started hunting in 1979 with Whites machines. Started using a Tesoro in the 90's, and they are by far my favorite! I just can't get into the high-tech machines. Health issues prevent me from deep digging and swinging a heavy machine.

Bandido or Silver Sabre which one to keep?

I love my 3 Tesoro models. Silver umax, Tiger Shark, and my 10.00 yard sale Conquistador umax. I've had several "fancy" machines, but I'm simple, and like simple things. Lol

    Only took six years,,,

Congrats! I used to find them back in the early 80's, but would love to dig one now.

    Hunt with 10.00 Conquistador today

I bought a Tesoro at a yard sale back in June, and finally took it out today. It did me well, as Tesoro products usually do. I hunted in all metal mode and found 2 tungsten carbide rings(redneck gold), some change, and then a 2009 girl's class ring. You don't need high-tech to have fun!

    New detector

The Equinox seems to be a proven machine. At least it has been around a while to get that reputation, but I don't own either, for what that's worth.

Got it done this morning with two firsts

I had the fortune of hunting the grounds of a Female College campus that was closed down around WWII. It had never been hunted before. This was back in the early 80's. Your finds remind me of those days. Sounds like you have found a great location! Congrats!!

    My old homemade scoop

When we have a "good" day, we still may not be able to do what we once enjoyed, but we always know that there are still things that we do enjoy, like fellowship and such. God Bless! Rick

    My old homemade scoop

Thanks, MA! My arthritis is also rheumatoid, and I have had it for decades, but it is not as severe as some. I take Methotrexate for it.

    Can't get pic to load.

    My old homemade scoop

This scoop has been with me since 1979. It is steel, and kind of heavy now for arthritic hands. I think I am on the 4th handle, but it has been a good one. May have to get a lighter one, though.

    A few finds.

Went out for a couple hours today and found a few things. I think the earring is 10k. Found a small silver ring, a large junk Batman ring, junk watch, and some change. It was fun to go again!

May take the Tiger Shark out tomorrow.

The best chain finder I ever had was an old White's Surfmaster Amphibian II(I think was the name). But the Tiger does well, too with little or no discrimination.

May take the Tiger Shark out tomorrow.

I love this old machine. Back when people used to lose gold, I found lots with it. Around here, the gold has all turned into tungsten carbide and other junk. Still find lots of change, though.

    War of 1812 excelsior

    Awesome find!!

May take the Tiger Shark out tomorrow.

If I go tomorrow, it will only be the third time out this year. Health issues have kept me in. Lake levels were high all summer, also, but they are now coming down. Don't know what the water temp is, but I plan on wading out as far as possible.
