    Sorry,I didn't read the wording correctly. My Bad. So much for trying to help others with so many questions. However,I've seen comparison charts of an equal size circular DD coil getting better depth than a comparable elliptical coil. I.E. 5" circular DD VS 9" X 5" elliptical DD.

    No. The Blue max coils are 6.59 khz and the Gold Master 3 is around 50 khz.

    Wilson Detectors

    My R & C II response is similar to your R & C IV. I'm almost finished restoring it. My ATD was a low hour creampuff,but didn't impress me with an air test. Very good in a trashy park as it didn't false much. I hope this R & C II fares better.

    Is the air tests in response to a 7.5" coil? How far away was a dime or penny? My ATD in motion discriminate was around 6.5-7".

    The one on the left is an ATD(analog to digital) and does have a decal with 'Daytona' on it. The right one is a heavily modified R & C IV. I'd be interested in the IV if you decide to part with it.

    Keith Wills repaired a CZ-5 i bought used. The Discriminator knob was malfunctioning. Couldn't get it to work in 'Auto Tune'. He replaced the potentiometer and it worked like new. No brag,just fact. He also replaced a CZ 5/6/6a meter face decal for me. If you decide to send it to Keith...

    Bounty hunter 10 inch coil

    Look for a push in connector variant for the Discovery series. 1100,2200 and 3300. They operate at 6.6 khz.

    Can anyone spare a big bud coil

    Any of the 'muffler on a stick' models and the Discovery 1100,2200 and 3300 coils will fit your xl. Sometimes you can find these real reasonable on ebay. I don't have any of these coils and thinking of selling by big bud metal detector.
