Just curious. I've been researching different Apps such as the one you mention but can't decide on which to use. there are soooooo many out there. Ideally, I'd like to find an App that allows you to use historic maps with active GPS capabilities. Any one have tips on a reliable one? F5

    My brother and I.....

UPDATE! After soaking the bullet shaped object I was able to get it apart and its definitely lipstick, a really dark shade of red. After cleaning the object that resembles a valve stem cover i noticed that there is a trace of iron down in the end. I'm thinking that it must be a razor handle. F5

In Between hunting an old map site...

I have been detecting permissions of late 1800's houses in a town that I pass through to get to the location. The house sits back away from the street quite a bit and after pulling up an a historical map of the area, I discovered that there once was a smaller house in the front yard next to the...

    My brother and I.....

Someone else suggested that may be a lipstick tube, very possible. I'll try soaking it in some oil to see if I can get it open. Also, someone suggested the linked item could possibly be a "choke" type necklace from the 20's or 30's? Danged if I know! Regardless, i'm going to make a noble effort...

question on the f-44 and replacing the tactile touchpad..

I concur PicketWire. I had the membrane go bad on my F5 after MANY years of use. I called Fisher and talked to Felix. After making arrangements, and shipping out my unit, it shows up at my doorstep a week later with new dash membrane, a new set of coil bushings and NO CHARGE for the repair...

How many remember the very first detector you started the hobby with and how long ago ??

My first detector was a Compadre about ten years ago. I practiced in my yard and around my property for about a year before venturing out to the rest of the world. Afterwards I got myself an F5 and recently a Teknetics 4000 as a back up and for guest hunters. Ive kept the Compadre for new...
