Second Hunt With The Nox 600 And More Silver

Thanks everyone for the amazing information and for taking the time to write it all down. Today I went back to the same spot that I had iron falsing and now I know the difference in tones. The main green is littered with iron too but there is a distinct difference in tone that was mentioned in...

First hunt, first silver, first impressions, and questions.

Today I had my first opportunity to detect a site with the Equinox 600. It is a town green and has a section where and old house may have burned down or fill was dumped so one section has lots of steel and iron nails and other debris. I live in Upstate NY near Albany and places in the area have...

    A few goodies from today.

I got to hit an old Cellar hole in an area where I grew up it was so nice to go back home and dig a familiar site. I also began reburying the old iron relics so if I ever bring friends there they can share in the excitement as well and the old Ox shoes and iron spikes can be preserved rather...

I am much impressed with the AT Pro!

I detected an area that was is loaded with iron and slag due to the fact that it was part of the iron industry in the late 1700's and 1800's. There are summer camps in the area so you never know how old finds may be. I found a v nickle and wheatie in an area my other detectors couldn't handle in...

New AT Pro user and question

A buddy gave me his old AT Pro today and I am grateful as can be. I hunted an old area that saw action during the rev war but lots of fill had been dumped there. A friend had an old house moved to install a new foundation and we had an hour and a half to dig. There has also been an old factory...

it was a great day today

I had the opportunity do work with my union today and afterwards a buddy had asked me to help him detect a rental property that was having its foundation repaired. I got to use my new at pro for the first time that a buddy had given me today. The site was loaded with iron because they had to...

    Short Field Hunt

A few finds from a plowed field that I have permission to detect in Mass. I was lucky to find that they were late in planting it.

    Looking for playground hunting inspirations.

Good day all, I am getting back into detecting after a hiatus pursuing Flyfishing. I grew up in an area with lots of colonial sites and loved detecting the woods, wood roads, and cellar holes for relics and coins. I hated hunting for new stuff, and it even took me a while to get used to city...

Buying my first new detector in years, need help.

Good day all. I'm looking for a new detector and have $400 that my wife said I could spend and also a few hundred that I can cough up through other side jobs. I started off using a whites classic ID SL in 97'after I did my 4 years in the Corps. and bought a DFX years later (I frequented the...

Finds with White's QXT and ???

My buddy got a used qxt for a super steal but he didn't like how it made so much noise and when he thought he located at target nothing was there, so he let me borrow it to check it out. I read a bunch of reviews on it and a lot of people seemed not to like the qxt but others said there was a...

    Used Etrac's

Good day all as soon as my waiting period is over I was thinking of putting my Shadow X5 up on the classifides to possibly get an etrac to hunt some of the older parks in my area. I just wondered how the etracs hold up after the warrantee is gone. I love the Shadow for buttons but I want some...

    IDX PRO EQUIVALENT???

Good day all, I was wondering is there an equivalent to the idx pro these days? I hunted many years with the White's classic SL I really liked it and I hunted alongside a buddy with an idx Pro and he always found old coppers so I was wondering what detector would be similar and for a reasonable...

    Fisher Question

Good day all. I was blessed to have found a plowed field where there must have been a house from the mid-1700s. I found three old coppers with my whites coinmaster and three more and a couple buttons with my shadow X5 and then I spent a couple days with the Fisher F-22. The Fisher found me three...

    A few with the F22

I found a break in the rain and hit a plowed field that yielded some old coppers from the 1700's. In between all the iron nails I pulled a few buttons.

    Patriot Question

Good day all, I am getting back into detecting after years off as an obsessed fly fisherman. I used to own a great Whites DFX that I traded for a Shadow X5 (I wanted to try out anther brand) and also own a Classic SL (ID) that is on its way out due to letting friends borrow it ;-). I tried a...

    New Fisher User- F22

I tried out an F 22 yesterday on a lawn in Oneonta, NY that was loaded with coal, coke, and iron. It seemed like someone emptied their fire pit or coal stove out in the yard but I found a dozen wheaties, 2 silver dimes, 2 buttons and some old toys. In between the iron chatter I could sift...

I tried a Fisher for the first time today and...

I tried out an F22 today and was thoroughly impressed! The whole lawn was all coal and debris and amidst the constant iron signals in jewelry mode, I found coin after coin amidst the coal and debris. I am sure considering a Fisher for my next detector now.

    Finally back at it!

It has been years since I have been here. The last time I was a regular was when the Friends and Finds was still around. I got into fly fishing and focused on that for a while but finally found some balance and tried out a Whites Coinmaster I bought to use with my students in science topics...

Whites IDX Pro with Bill's mods or new detector like F70, AT Pro, etc

Good day all, It has been years since I posted and in the meantime I traded my DFX (wish I hadn't) and my Classic ID SL I purchased the year I got out of the Marines, 1997, is on the Fritz and I want a new detector. I saw an IDX pro for $399. Should I snatch it up or just get an F70, Teknetics...
