My F75 has been 100% correct identifying.......

Foil, that is. I know, one day a little hunk of gold will show up, but, for now, my detector has been 100% correct. grrrrrrr.

    A quick hunt this evening......

Hi All, Had a quick little hunt this evening.....it was cold and drizzling, but, I was determined since it will be raining tomorrow. The little Ace Bandage straps at the top come in as perfect nickels, a solid 30 on the VDI and they have faked me out more than a few times! Also...

Will a detector respond to titanium?

My wife is flying this weekend and got a note from her doctor disclosing a knee replacement (so the TSA won't take her knee apart). She also has metal plates in her neck and lower back. I didn't believe her when she said the detectors won't go off with titanium, but, would with her stainless...

Just over 5 months, total for 2010

After my last cleaning for 2010, I sorted and rolled all my clad for a grand total of $125.59. This was had since the purchase of my very first detector, my F75 Standard, less than 5 months ago. Adding to that total is a bag of uncleaned clad (about $3), seven silver rings, a few silver...

Last hunt of the year and a medallion

Happy New Year to all! I went on my last hunt of the year this evening. I found a large collector's medallion from the North American Hunting Club.......how cool is that? Of course, it is from the "let's go out and kill something" hunters, not the metal detecting folks. It is really a...

Is it gold?? and an impossible find!!!

SWMBO was in a benevolent mood this afternoon and said, "Why don't you go hunting for a little while? Go relax after the hectic Christmas." I know, way down deep inside, she was thinking....Heh, it's freezing outside, he won't want to get out in this weather! Wrong!! Heck, I had to try...

    Another silver ring........

It was about 4:30 pm this afternoon and I had been itching to get out with the detector all day long. Having just got back from the grocery store and put away all the goods, I asked SWMBO if it would be okay if I ran up to the local soccer complex before it got dark....it gets dark at 5:30 pm...

4 whatzits in one post, hope that's okay!

I haven't got a clue what this could be. It is badly rusted. As the photo sits, it measures 2 1/8" wide and 1 3/4" tall: I'm putting this in, not only because I don't know what it is, but, because it was made in England!! Don't see that stamped on things very often!!: This is nothing...

6 hrs of hunting, but, a ton of fun!!

6 hours of hunting today and covered only a small part of a local park. Here is a pic of the take, except for a piece in the "Whatzit" forum: Here is something for any of our Brit folks and something you don't see everyday here in the U.S.!! I'm putting this in the "Whatzit" forum, as...

Short park hunt, great day, another Avery piece!

Made a short hunt, 3 hrs, at a local park. Although, I only found a small number of items, it was a great day. Only found $1.05 in clad, a costume earring (it does say 925 on the bar, does that mean just the bar is silver?) and a beautiful James Avery silver cross. This makes two James Avery...

Does anyone use the Delta Pitch tone?

I used the Delta Pitch tone setting for the first time yesterday, it was different, to say the least. I found myself switching from Delta Pitch in Disc Mode to All Metal Motion just to verify what I was hearing and, most of the time, it made sense. When you get a good target, there is no...

    Anyone know about "ornamental" coins??

Found this today at the local soccer park. Rather unusual for this area! Can anyone identify it? It looks pretty new, but, I sure can't read the date!!

What a great day! Got the 3 C's: clad, coin, car

The Car......I added to my Hot Wheels collection today. 5 cars in less than 5 months......not bad!! And, the Coin..........anyone know anything about oriental coins? It is unusual to find an "ornamental" coin in northeast Texas!! 10 Yen? 10 Won?? And the third...

F75 noisy with Garrett Pro Pointer

I couldn't find the original post on this topic, but, I know this has been discussed. At the time, I posted that I had not experienced any interference from the Pro Pointer with my F75. Well, today I did. It wasn't bad and it was only when the PP was on and within a foot or two from the...

    A 4" condom and a 5" goat.....

This is the day that should have been the "odd day at the park." I was digging many of my good foil signals.....hoping for a little gold, but, instead, I came up with a condom on the end of my digging knife from 4" deep. Needless to say, I was just a tad surprised. Apparently, it was...

    Odd day at the park......

I thought, for a fleeting moment, I had found gold today. But, nay, it was the edge of a 1988 $100 Mexican coin.....still a fun find! I did hit a 1948 Rosie at 6" and a perfect 75 on the VDI and a small silver heart. I added to my Hot Wheels collection and found a Canadian cent! The...

    copper pipe with enameled deco's

Anyone have a clue what this may have been a part of? The 'pipe' portion appears to be copper and it has two blue enameled stars on either side of a crescent moon with a star inside. The pipe portion is approx. 3/4" diameter with a length of about 3 1/2". Thanks!

    Another silver ring.....

Picked up another silver ring today......a very small children's size, but, it is stamped 925 inside (not even worth posting a pic). That makes 6 rings, 5 in the past few weeks. I had high hopes for the search today, an old school built in 1931 had been torn down (quite a way from here) and a...

    Decorative metal bar........???

I've never seen anything quite like this and have no idea as to what it may be. The left portion has been broken off (I looked around, but, didn't find it). The right end has a hole drilled, obviously for mounting. It was approx. 5 - 6 inches deep and what you see is what it looked like...
